Bringing Hope and Relief for poor residents of Angola and Brazil
(PRWEB) December 6, 2010
C.a.L.M (Complementary. Alternative. Lifestyle. Medicine) International, headquartered in Austin, Texas USA, and directed by Roby Russell, JD; MD, has as its primary objective, to create interest in, and funding for, the scientific studies, to develop more effective and less costly therapies for the treatment of autoimmune disorders and diseases, while promoting social work in the lower income communities. CALM International is joined in this project by the scientific technical team of the University of Texas Department of Integrative Biology Laboratory, under the supervision of Richard Richardson, PhD, and his wife, Patricia Richardson, PhD.
The studies are expected to discover and create the most cost effective method of bringing affordable health care to anyone, worldwide, at or below, the poverty level.
In Brazil, CALM has entered into a joint venture agreement with AAMPF (the Association of Friends of Fluminense Park), and the International Vitamins Company (buscaremedios.com.br) , whose physicians will deliver the constant care necessary in the treatment of Allergy, to the residential population of the Municipal District of Duque de Caxias. different tests and treatments will be scheduled for each day of the week in the Association Building under the supervision of a clinical physician, who will determine whether the patient presents with allergy symptoms, and needs to be directed to a specialist.
It is worth referencing the data supplied by WHO (World Health Organization), that 35% of the population of Brazil, suffers from some type of allergy, and very often, suffers from more than one. according to the Brazilian Specialist, Marcello Bossois, MD, and member of CALM International, the most common types of allergy in the Fluminense Park Lowland area, are skin problems, caused by insect bites (mosquitoes, ticks and ants), respiratory problems caused by contacts with chemical products (rhinitis, bronchitis, and sinusitis), provoked by dust, mites, and toxic gas emissions.
In this area, the respiratory allergies stand out as the most common type found in the residents.
Bossois emphasizes that the poorest resident population of the Lowlands, especially, in Duque de Caxias, have not had access, until now, to sufficient healthcare action, to find solutions for a problem which is so pressing, so worrisome and so frequent. It is, in his opinion, urgent, to create the conditions to support the proportioning of free treatment, which is both effective and efficient, that results in filling the medical needs of that municipality.
"the CALM initiative, in conjunction with the Association of Fluminense Parque, is offering free treatment to those who suffer with allergy. we have come to eliminate the gap", adds Bossois.
Bossois also informs us that the first phase of the initiative is destined for the Municipality of Duque de Caxias, and adjacent communities. the objective of the next stage, will be to implement the same services in all of the municipalities of the Lowland, and Rio de Janeiro State, reaching as far as the Amazon Forest an Angola, Africa.. we must stress that the inhabitants of this region suffer form significant skin problems because of the bites of jungle mosquitoes that can also lead to secondary diseases, such as rheumatic fever and kidney diseases.
For this, CALM will proceed in the expansion with solid, effective, and purposeful actions.
The symptoms of Allergy are the exaggerated response of an organism to a substance which it perceives as an invader. these substances, called allergens, can be of any type (pollen, dust, insect bites, animal dander, cleaning products, food, etc.). They can cause various effects, such as sneezing, mucus, diarrhea, shortness of breath, pain, rashes and hives, among many others.
The treatment depends on the degree of manifestation, and it is better to treat early, than late. Generally, in its most acute form, allergy is treated with antibiotics, and corticosteroids. because of the high number of side effects that they cause in the organism, from too frequent use, it is a matter of concern among specialists.
