I know that it probably depends on the medication that I take, and if my symptoms are active. my symptoms are moderately active, and I take medicine (currently not taking any for my Crohn's). any suggestions to make it through the fast? and should I fast at all if I have Crohn's?
Have you discussed fasting with your DOCTOR?
Cause that's usually a good indicator as to whether it's okay for Yom Kippur…if your doctor has forbidden you to fast.
You know, if you shouldn't fast, here's what I did when I was pregnant/nursing…I gave up the ONE favorite food that I would really miss.
Depends on how advanced your disease is. I don't think you should fast. there should be a religious way to compensate for fasting. in Islam a sick person can feed an indigent person if he can't fast due to his disease. I'm sure there are the same rules in your religion. After all, all the religions came from the same loving God who has mercy on us not anger.
you should discuss this with your doctor, and your rabbi. because there are different ways of eating. sometimes you have to eat in small quantities every so often, or you can eat normal. i don't know if you can eat normal on yom kippur though.
