Guests at a recent Playboy Mansion fundraiser reported symptoms of fever, cough and fatigue.
Los Angeles County health officials are investigating reports that dozens of people contracted respiratory illnesses after a fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion.
The Los Angeles Times says Saturday that the county’s Department of Public Health sent an e-mail with a survey to all who attended the Feb. 3 event at the L.A. mansion, saying that they had received reports of problems including pneumonia.
The fundraiser was part of the DOMAINfest Global conference, attended by some 700 people from 30 countries in nearby Santa Monica.
David Castello tells the Times he attended the fundraiser and was sick for the next five days with a fever, cough, headaches and back spasms, and remains fatigued a week later.
Health department officials and Playboy representatives did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
