If I were to tell you that things were going great with my Spanish girlfriend of 10 months, it would be a lie. If I were to tell you that we have our ups and downs, I would be getting closer to the truth. And if I were to say that when things are good, they are great and when things are bad, they are really bad, it would be pretty much spot on.

Sometimes I feel like my girlfriend and I aren’t compatible: she self-admittedly has control issues, and I self-admittedly can be slightly out of control. We grew up in completely different cultures, we have different ideas of God and religion, we usually don’t agree on politics, and sometimes we flat out just don’t get along. We are bordering on being in a love-hate relationship.but we do have a lot in common: We both love traveling, food, dogs, kayaking, hiking, gardening, and photography, and we have some overlapping tastes in music. like I said, when things are good, they are great!

My girlfriend is well aware of my attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) and has taken steps to educate herself about ADD/ADHD. I admire that about her. she has read books about ADD/ADHD, visited multiple websites, and read everything she could get her hands on. she even introduced me to this website! but, after experiencing recent problems in my relationship — where some of my ADHD symptoms came up as potential causes for our issues — I realized that both partners have to come to accept not just ADD/ADHD, but also how it affects the relationship.

I know I am faulty. I realize I am not always easy to get along with. I know that I am more flawed than most. I have anger problems and a low self-esteem, I am easily distracted, I fail to follow through with things, and I hyperfocus on stuff I shouldn’t be focusing on at all. I have flaws. but so does everyone else on this planet, and sometimes I think my girlfriend forgets that.

In a lot of ways, the relationship has become more of a game or a competition between the two of us instead of what it should be. We should be a team. We fight and point fingers at each other. We focus so intensely on the other person’s flaws that we fail to see our own. thus things tend to go uncorrected. Gandhi had some good advice when he said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” If we can really focus more on improving ourselves and less on changing the other person to meet our needs, we might finally get somewhere.

Here is something we as ADDers need to accept, though: Relationship troubles are common among ADD/ADHD people. We need to accept that we are at a slight disadvantage when it comes to things like marital bliss. We can’t change how patient and understanding our romantic partners will be of our ADD/ADHD challenges. We can only change ourselves, and honestly that’s a good place to start.

I was just wondering because we were talking about it is science and i want to know if it takes a while for the disease to show or does the baby have symptoms right away….and sorry for my spelling!

some babies will have symptoms when they are born and some wont

Most of the time babies dont show symptoms right away. thats why alot of states now have mandatoring testing. my daughter is 10 months old and doesnt show any symptoms.

Darwen musician writes song for Madison Allan

a DARWEN musician has written a song to raise funds for Madison Allan’s cancer treatment.

Guitarist Glenn Evans, who plays in local rock group, Kreuz, is hoping to raise thousands for the Madison Allan appeal via the sales of his song, Time Escapes.

Six-year-old Madison, of Lord’s Crescent, Lower Darwen, was first diagnosed with stomach cancer aged 10-months and has battled the disease ever since.

Glenn, 33, said: “I think there are lots of people out there in a position to help Madison and this song is just another way that they can support her appeal.

“I have a talent so it is no skin off my nose to donate all the funds raised from the sales to the appeal.

“This is the worst nightmare of any parent and I would urge everyone to do as much as they can to help.”

The song, which carries the message, ‘With love time is irrelevant’, is available on the Townsend Records website for £1.

Madison’s family thanked Glenn for joining the appeal and urged people to buy the song.

her grandmother, Alison Foster, said: “It is an absolutely lovely gesture and Madison heard the song and she likes it as well.

“We are really pleased that people have been so thoughtful and we hope they will buy the single.”

Last week Madison was admitted to a high dependency unit after her family feared she had suffered a stroke.

Mum Samantha rushed Madison to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, where doctors carried out a series of blood tests.

Medics now believe the painful symptoms were caused by very low levels of calcium and potassium in her body, due to gruelling chemotherapy, and she was treated for the condition.

Today she is due to begin a a chemotherapy course at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

And this will be followed by a trip to hospital in Germany on Monday where she will undergo scans to see whether her tumour has shrunk, allowing her to start another phase of treatment.

Mrs Foster said: “Madison spent Christmas at home and she got very excited opening her presents.

“She is quite chirpy at the moment and it is the best we have seen her in a while because this time last year she was very poorly.

“We just hope that she can begin the next phase.”

Before I spend money going to a doctor I want to find out myself if I have it.

Cysts can cause pain in your abdomen, lower back, and legs. they can also cause spotting. Keep in mind that you might not have symptoms at all if you have one. I have one on my left ovary about 3 cm big and I never felt a thing. Also it's good to know that most cysts are benign and aren't a problem. It's somewhat rare that they could be cancerous. If you have one that's painful, you need to visit a doctor just in case.

There are many symptoms,

Irregular (or missing) periods, hair loss, excess hair, acne, obesity and fertility problems.

My main symptom was not having any period for 10 months. Then my doctor finally sent me for a scan at the hospital where they confirmed I had PCOS.

I use to have really bad cramps and irregular periods. I was diagnosed with functional cyst (comes and goes so it is not cancerous) thank GOD. my doctor prescribed me birth control pill and it got better. There are diffferent types of ovarian cyst and you can check it through altra sound.

I have that, how I found out was that I didn't get periods and went for an ultrasound and they spotted it. some people have excess hair growth, lots of spots and things like that. ( I was lucky with my symptoms!)
