To those of you who are of the male persuasion, please don’t call this bulls/t. What I and many other women went through/go through is real.

I was never able to take any birth control (yes, I too am one of Rush’s sluts!) that contained estrogen. I could however use a progesterone only bill (more confirmation that I am a slut!). When I got pregnant, I puked 24 hours a day for the ENTIRE pregnancy. I did IV’s for 32 weeks. I had a healthy baby but he almost killed me!

After I had our son, the doctor warned me that another pregnancy might kill me, thus we never tried to have another child. the one we had is a gift, but another wasn’t worth my life – or theirs without their mother.

When our son was 3 years old, I got hit with PMS that was debilitating. As I look back now, I realize that even back in college, I was showing signs of PMS, although back then it didn’t exist officially. in 1999, I got so tired of fighting a monthly battle that started 5 days after my period ended (when I ovulated) and ended several days after I started my period again. I never thought about suicide – would never have put my son, husband and family through that – but there were times that I wished that I just wouldn’t wake up. I could not….did not….function.

I saw doctors and psychiatrists, and they all said it’s just PMS and put me on a variety of anti-depressants. It wasn’t until we moved back to our home state of Wisconsin that I found a great psychiatrist who looked at all of my records (I had kept detailed records and journals) and the first thing he said was that there was a pattern and it had to do with my monthly cycles. he referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist.

Within 5 days I had an appointment with a woman named Dr. Elizabeth Pritts (her husband is also a reproductive endocrinologist). although her specialty was infertility, she listened intently as I cried my way through my story, and then she looked at me and said, “We can fix this.” she explained about the procedure and together my husband and I decided that doing nothing was not an option.

What was the procedure? It was a shot every three months with a drug called Lupron Depot. It was originally a drug used in men with advanced prostate cancer, but they found uses for it in women who suffered from endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and many other female-related problems. she warned me that the first two weeks after the shot would be worse than anything that I’d been through so far, but that if I could hold out, I would get my life back.

The shot (in my butt) was mildly uncomfortable, and the next two weeks were exactly how she described they would be. my body was saying MAKE ESTROGEN….MAKE ESTROGEN, and the Lupron was saying STOP MAKING ESTROGEN, STOP MAKING ESTROGEN – MENOPAUSE IS WONDERFUL AND IT WILL END THE PMDD.

Dr. Pritts was right on! On day 14, I got out of bed, showered, and all was well. Yes, the shot put me into a drug-induced menopause, and I expected the hot flashes and night sweats, but never had any! for the next ten years, I got a Lupron shot every 3 months. A year ago, given my age, we decided to see if I was in menopause and it was basically a waiting game. Blood tests said I was in perimenopause, but to this day I have not had my period, and the PMDD is no longer a problem despite the fact that I am no longer on Lupron.

Just a warning….if you check out Lupron Depot online, you will find many who think it’s the worst drug on the market. I have to disagree because it gave me my life back. When I was offered the drug 10 years ago, there was no question that I would give it a try because life was no longer worth living. Dr. Pritts and Lupron gave me my life back. my son is now almost 16 years old, and consider myself a two-time survivor – first from the hell of PMDD and second from the sometimes hell of having a teenager!

I owe my life to Dr. Pritts. she is my savior and I will be forever grateful for what she did for me. No, mine was not a typical case of PMS or PMDD, and no, Lupron is not normally prescribed for conditions such as mine, but when you’re at the end of your rope, you’ll try just about anything.

I’m very lucky. I have a wonderful family, and my husband is a gem. Unlike some of you other guys who have responded to this article, he never once called me a bitch or questioned whether or not I was faking it. he loved me, he supported me, and he comforted me. to those men responding critically about this issue, I feel sorry for your wives because they’re married to real idiots and creeps!

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 14 (UPI) — U.S. researchers say they are beginning to detect behaviors and symptoms of autism that may make earlier diagnosis — and intervention — possible.

Brooke Ingersoll of Michigan State University said autism is normally diagnosed between ages 2 and 3, but if physicians could detect autism spectrum disorders in babies as young as 12 months, it might be possible to help them earlier — and perhaps even stop them from developing autism.

For example, at 12 months, children who will later develop autism are less likely to show “joint attention behaviors” paying attention to both a toy and another person, Ingersoll said.

If young children have problems with social behaviors, it may then explain some of the later problems in autism. for example, if they don’t imitate, that could help explain why they have difficulty with language later, Ingersoll said.

The findings are published in the Current Directions in Psychological Science.

Its been 2 years now since my last sex, but this issue had just occurred to me. I have never thought of it before until now.

I just went through the same experience. I lost my virginity unprotected to a girl whom I think has had sex before. this happened about 2-3 years ago and only did it once.
I am 20 years old now and this conscious thought only came to me the other day about it so I checked myself, the wait was kind of long. I tried to go last year with some friends but the wait list was was too long for the rest of the day. I would try to go right when it opens or 30 minutes before to get in and out.

And if it was protected sex then chances are slim to none.

STD is a term for sexually-transmitted disease which can be one of many and symptoms vary widely.
With exception of viral diseases and syphilis you would definitely feel trichomaniosis or gonorrea and other bacterial diseases.
HIV is usually asymptomatic at this stage. Syphilis can be latent. HVC, HPV and genital herpes might not be manifested depending on many factors.

If you have hiv There may not be any syptoms except maybe some flu like symptoms.other STDs have symptoms such as Discoloration, bumps or lacerations, Painful discharge, painful urination. honestly your best bet is to get tested. they have many clinic which do the tests for free. better Safe than sorry

"Fibrosis" is a term used to refer to scarring, so pulmonary fibrosis means scarring throughout the lungs. Pulmonary fibrosis can be caused by many conditions including chronic inflammatory processes (sarcoidosis, Wegener's granulomatosis ), infections, environmental agents (asbestos, silica, exposure to certain gases), exposure to ionizing radiation (such as radiation therapy to treat tumors of the chest), chronic conditions (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis), and certain medications.

My husband had an infection as a child and lived out of the US so didn't get proper treatment. he now has fibrosis in the left lung. up until the last 3 years, he didn't have much of a problem. Some other problems came up and now he is short of breath on exertion but is able to do most things at a slower pace. he is 74. there is a lot of info to be found on Pulmonary fibrosis but it doesn't pertain to everyone.

You or whoever is involved should follow the MD's advice. probably there is a small amount of fibrosis which won't impact the patient, at least at this time. The fibrosis and lesions can't be cleared but can be lived with.

I've been having mild prostatitis symptoms on & off for 3 years (frequent urinations, discomfort in the perineum or urethra , weak urine stream) but usually went away in a few weeks. the symptoms seemed to go away for almost a year and they come back. my doc put me on Cipro for 10 days for prostatitis and insist that they are not cancer symptoms since they've been on & off and my weak urine stream symptoms went even before I started the Cipro. my discomfort in the perineum or urethra when getting better sitting still not gone completely and the frequencies are still on and off depend on how much I drink or what I eat. I went to a urologist 2 years ago but he only found that one the right side of my prostate slightly larger and suggested some source of inflammation. Other doctors agreed with him too. my PSA was 2.2 a year ago and I am 39. do you have any experience like this? Please share with me. Thank you so much.

i found out i have chronic lyme disease feb 11th, started treatment the 12th… i have all the the terrible symptoms: Migranes, dizziness, eyes hurt, feeling dioriented, like im a whole different person, flu like symptoms ect… it also affected me mentally making feel a depersonalization kind of feeling… will i feel completly back to normal once the disease is gone??

my friend got lyme disease about 3 years ago. he was fully treated and all that good stuff and said that the symptoms go away but they will relapse, but not as bad as before. sorry i couldnt be more help

Chronic Lyme disease doesn't exist.

If you had an actual, undiagnosed case of Lyme disease, then some damage may be permanent even in the complete absence of the bacteria. this is referred to as Stage IV Lyme disease.

i was treated for Lyme'sfor about a year, I had all your symptoms and more but the migraines were the worst for me. I know how you feel, I felt really weird while sick. and believe me its gonna take a long time to get back to normal, I finished my treatment about a year ago and the only symptom that i still have is the occasional mmigraineand headache. it took very long time for the headaches to calm down and become mmanageable I think I suffered some permanent nerve damage as well. you need remember that lymes devestates your immune system and wipes it out, it takes a long time to rebuild it. and one other piece of advice is to make sure your treated by a lyme literate doc who will stick with you and see it through to the end

I have been sick for 3 years, at first the doctors told me it was my Gallbladder, So I had it removed. Then it was Ulcers, then Acid reflex, and now Gastritis.
They have tried to make me better but nothing has worked. on Nov 16th I go in for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy, I am hoping they can find the real problem.
Before I eat anything I have burning in my stomach and it aches, So I eat, then 20 to 30 minutes after eating I get Abdominal pain, and cramping, then comes the Diarrhea. After I go Diarrhea i then go lay down with pillows under my stomach. I normally have Diarrhea 2 to 5 times after every meal. I also get a low fever around 99.4 to 99.9. if i dont eat then I dont get a fever, but when ever I eat I get it. does anyone have some of the same problems? Could it be Crohn's Disease? Or something else? please tell me your symptoms or Cures or answers. Thank You!!!

Crohn's is a definate possibilty. have you been checked for IBS and/or Hiatal Hernia?

I am married for about 3 years. we had premature birth about 4 months ago and my baby girl died before birth. we had sex many times after that but last night my wife suddenly had to much pain and we stopped. What would be the reason for pain, plz someone help me here….

could be gas, or could even be her period coming on soon.
if it keeps coming back she should probably see her doctor.

my son is almost 3 years now. he is speaking very little. just words and no sentences and i feel that he even does not understands every thing i say.

He might just have a speech or learning impediment that's not necessarily adhd. there are tons of books about childhood adhd! if you are getting that worried, I would take him to a doctor. But I think you could easily find answers at the library. I hope things get better.

It sounds more like a developmental disorder than ADHD.

I'd see a physician.
