What is Acid Reflux Disease

These juices are held in the stomach for digestion process. when these juices flow back to the esophagus it leads to a burning sensation in the heart called heart burn.

Cause and Symptoms

There is a band of muscles called the lower esophagus sphincters (LES) that separates the esophagus from the stomach. when we chew and swallow the food, it goes to the stomach via esophagus or food pipe. Once the food reaches the stomach the LES closes itself thus separating it from the stomach. the stomach produces acidic juices like hydrochloric acid and pepsin to enhance the sterilization and digestion of the food that we eat and drink to release energy. These acids are highly corrosive. But our stomach has got a protective acid proof lining. when our LES becomes weak and does not close properly it leads to reverse gastric juice flow. as our esophagus does not have any acid proof lining it leads to heartburn.  Frequent heart burn is the most common Acidic Reflux Symptom.

Acid Reflux Treatment

Neglecting frequent heartburn may lead to the erosion of the esophageal lining which may in due course be the reason for esophageal cancer. though there are many medical treatments available, it only masks Acid Reflux Symptom. Medical treatments may just give temporary cure to the disease. Some home treatments are always advised by the doctors which are both easy and do not have any side effects. Drinking lot of water will help in washing out any stomach acids thus reducing heartburn. Do not go to bed just after having food. take light walk after having dinner. have food in time. Sleeping with you head in an elevated position is also a good way of reducing heartburn while sleeping.

Making a habit of having healthy food in time and following a healthy regime in your life is the best way of avoiding Acid Reflux treatment.  getting yearly health check up should be made mandatory so that a medical practitioner can pick up the symptoms and diagnose the same. Early diagnosis helps in curing this disease in time.
