Hello,

It's been more than a month now that I've been having a running nose and a strong cough. These past few days, I've been feeling tired and weak. My ears are also blocked and sometimes have a hard time hearing. What do you guys think about these symptoms? Someone told me it might be chronic cough but not too sure.. anyone have any ideas on what it might be. Thanks

P.S. I have no allergies.

Viruses(common cold) and bacterial infections cause the same symptoms. on the cellular level its all the same. There's something interfering with the cell's regulatory processes.

If you have a cold then you need to support your immune system with vitamin C. the cold will leave your body within 2-3 weeks.

If you still feel sick after 2-3 weeks, ask for an antibiotic. Take the whole course.

If you still feel sick after taking the full course of antibiotic, you may want to look into getting tested for infectious mononucleosis, std's, etc.

You may have developed sinusitis or an ear infection which would explain the tiredness and weakness. the cough can be cause by mucus draining down the back of the throat and irritating the lining of your bronchi. Go to your doc if you are still not better by tomorrow. He may prescribe an antibiotic to combat the infection. better safe than sorry.

It could be bronchitis.. have it checked.. I have your same symptoms but have not been to the docs yet… trying to wait it out….I know eventually it will go away on its own and I really don't want to take any antibiotics for it…

(Go to the doctor and ask him.) I think you are having a longlasting cold

Everyone is telling me that both of my children (5 and 1) could have allergies. they both have had several "colds" within the last few months and they always get it at the same time. I don't have allergies myself, but I always assumed that you would have allergy symptoms throughout the entire allergy season. but am I wrong? Do the symptoms come and go?

It depends on what that particular person is allergic to and how much of the allergen that person is exposed to. Like pollen from trees and plants at certain times of the year can be worse than at other times and if your children come close to that pollen or allergen, they may have an attack raising the symptoms.

Symptoms do come and go, depending on what pollen is in the air and how high the pollen count is. Spring and fall are the worst time for allergies.

Please help.. I don;t thnik it is a cat allergy cause it takes time for me to experience it.

Usually immediately. sometimes it takes just walking into a room with a cat and sometimes it takes touching your eyes/nose after touching cat.

sometimes it takes me a few hours before the symptoms show…

3-5 min. or depending how allergic and how serious ur body is. 1-2 min.

Usually the alergies will happen immediately, like sneezing or rashes, but sometimes they wont start for a while. Depends on how you were exposed, and how much you are allergic you are to cats.

Either immediately, or, after a few hours. I get allergies if I stay over a friend's house who has a long-haired kind of cat.

My daughter used to be able to play with cats and then around
the age of 8 (I think) she started itching after playing with them.
Now she is 11 and if she touches them she has to wash her
hands immediately or her nose starts to get all congested
and she gets itchy.

Depends on the level of your allergy to them. to some people is is immediately and others it takes some longer time.

According to a survey of 621 people, conducted online from a database of asthma and allergy patients, about 70% of sinusitis sufferers most trust a primary care doctor to correctly diagnose symptoms, yet only 36% go to one for help.

Allergies vs. Chronic Sinusitis

Mike Tringale, vice president of external affairs at the AAFA, says in a news release that there’s a key difference between allergies and chronic sinusitis.

“If you have allergy-like symptoms that last longer than 12 weeks, or symptoms that occur more than three times per year, with symptoms usually lasting more than 20 days despite treatment attempts, you may have chronic sinusitis and should see a doctor for a correct diagnosis and the right medical solution,” he says.

About 7 million Americans suffer from chronic sinusitis, resulting in some 32 million cases reported by doctors and other health care providers every year.

The survey was released to coincide with the peak of spring allergy season, which makes it important for people with symptoms to see a specialist, says the AAFA.

Stacey Silvers, MD, of Beth Israel Hospital in New York, says chronic sinusitis has been underdiagnosed for many years.

Because so many people are confused about treatment of the chronic sinusitis and more than 50% of people do not respond adequately to medications, “it’s important that they consult with an ear, nose and throat physician to get the most appropriate treatment to alleviate long-term suffering,” she says.

Common symptoms of sinusitis include:

Facial pain

Nasal congestion

Yellow or green mucus in the nose

Fever

Some cases of chronic sinusitis due to infection are treated with antibiotics.

Some telltale sign&#97&#108&#115 of oatmeal allergies include a swollen stomach me&#114&#105&#116ed to fuel construct up, a tiny rash across the ab&#100&#111&#109en, and/or vomiting. Oatmeal consists of gluten, a&#32&#103&#114ain-based protein that reffers to as for any selec&#116&#101&#100 enzyme to break down. Lacking this enzyme is what&#32&#112&#114oduces the fuel and vomiting.
