In some countries, the infection with hepatitis B virus is most common during pregnancy. One can also be infected with the hepatitis B virus in his/ her early childhood. To gain some control over this method of transmitting hepatitis means to have a very good idea about the infection with the hepatitis B virus during pregnancy.

This knowledge of the infection with the hepatitis B virus when pregnant gives a good view on some of the following things:

- the mortality rate of the person carrying the hepatitis virus;

- the effect of the hepatitis B virus on the parturition process;

- most important, the capability of the hepatitis virus to be transmitted to the foetus;

There are tests that can show can show the seroprevelance of the hepatitis B virus in a pregnant women. The infection with hepatitis can be either acute or chronic. The acute infection with the hepatitis B virus means that this infection happened only during pregnancy and the person was otherwise healthy, whereas the chronic infection shows that the infection with the hepatitis B virus was previous to the pregnancy.

Studies have shown that the hepatitis B infection is not perdilect to pregnant women and the percentage of non pregnant women suffering from hepatitis B is almost the same of those pregnant. more, the acute form of hepatitis B does not have more severe symptoms in pregnant women than in the non pregnant ones.

The symptoms for viral hepatitis are the same: fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting. The last two hepatitis symptoms may be also mistaken for pregnancy symptoms in women that do not suffer from hepatitis. If hepatitis resolves before there is a great liver injury, the symptoms of hepatitis may also be passes off as flu symptoms or even as effects of the pregnancy itself. In most of the cases, the acute hepatitis symptoms will pass in about six weeks.

If a pregnant women suffers from acute hepatitis, this may induce a premature labour, especially if she is in the last trimester. However, this has little or no effect on the foetus.

Chronic hepatitis is a very serious condition that has no symptoms. A person may develop hepatitis symptoms when this disease has done many damage to the liver. Most of the women that become pregnant, find out that they suffer from chronic hepatitis after they go to an obstetrician.

For more resources about hepatitis c symptoms please review hepatitis-guide.com/hepatitis-c-transmission.htm or even hepatitis-guide.com/hepatitis-c-treatment.htm

Care must be taken with those who suspect they may be at risk to see a doctor for blood tests and if necessary, treatment options that need to be discussed.

Hepatitis a can be quite serious, but is preventable by use of an available vaccine. It can typically last for six months or less, so it is an acute condition, as opposed to a chronic condition. It is transmitted by ingesting fecal matter, by eating contaminated vegetables and fruits, and can also be transmitted by sexual transmission. This type of hepatitis, however, is not chronic, so it does not generally cause long-term damage to a person’s liver. Some of the hepatitis symptoms of infection include fever, jaundice, dark urine, joint pain, abdominal pain, loss of appetite and others.

Hepatitis B is a bit more complicated, and there are four main ways that it can be transmitted: sexual contact, transmission from infected mother to child during pregnancy, sharing household items, and contact with blood and blood products. This type can be a very serious condition that can be prevented by vaccination; unfortunately, the vaccine will not help unless it is administered within 24 hours of the initial exposure to the virus. There are 1.4 million people in the United States infected with this type. Symptoms are the same as they are for hepatitis a, and hepatitis B can be either acute or chronic. Only a definitive blood test would be conclusive regarding which type a person has contracted.

About 4 million people are infected with the C strain of the virus in this country, and this strain is also the most common cause for liver transplants to take place. Hepatitis C can range from presenting itself as a mild illness to a long and constant battle with liver disease. This liver disease can be fatal, and liver cancer can also occur. one of the worst characteristics about this strain is that it can lie dormant for decades, while it quietly inhibits liver function and causes liver disease, also known as cirrhosis. It can also promote liver cancer while liver damage is occurring, and may possibly be irreversible. Sadly, there is no cure, and no vaccination is currently available for this strain of hepatitis. Hepatitis symptoms are the same as the other two strains, but hepatitis C is chronic and is much more difficult to combat.

Inflammation that continues beyond the 6 month mark is termed chronic hepatitis.

The causes of liver inflammation have been broadly classified by doctors to form two main categories. There is viral hepatitis and non infectious hepatitis. Viral hepatitis is a very confusing disease and is categorized into five viruses named from Hepatitis A to Hepatitis E. Each of the viruses causes a different type of hepatitis and spreads differently as well. some forms of the disease are infectious as well.

Non infectious hepatitis on the other hand is due to certain chemicals found in alcohol or medication. Then there are other health issues like obesity or genetic disorders among that can cause the disease. This type of hepatitis cannot be spread from one person to another.

Hepatitis C is a very persistent form of the disease, far more so than hepatitis A or B. it is transferred for the most part through blood. it should be clearly understood that it cannot be transferred through casual contact, hugging, sharing food or drink, coughing or sneezing. it can be transferred through sharing drug equipment like needles or tattooing needles that have not been sterilized properly. it can also be transferred during a blood transfusion, sex or other forms of contact with an infected person’s blood.

Strangely enough some people do not have any symptoms when they get infected with the hepatitis C virus despite the fact that it damages the liver. it is possible that the symptoms may emerge at a later stage and can even take months or as long as 20 years to appear. it is also possible that a person can develop the disease and the immune system will work to eradicate it completely without their knowledge.

When the symptoms for hepatitis C do appear, they may include: nausea, vomiting, flu like symptoms, loss of appetite, diarrhea, jaundice, fatigue, itchy skin and pain over the liver, just under the rib cage.

If you suspect that you may have hepatitis C or have been exposed to hepatitis C it is important that you be tested. you can schedule a visit with your doctor to be tested or there are home testing kits available as well which will be a less expensive testing option.
