Addressing the seminar, Dr Shona Nag, Director, Oncology Department, Sahyadri Hospital shared, &#8220;Breast cancer &#097;&#110;&#100; cervical cancer affect the largest number of patients worldwide, &#119;&#104;&#101;&#114;&#101;&#097;&#115; &#105;&#116; &#105;&#115; &#101;&#120;&#097;&#099;&#116;&#108;&#121; the opposite in India .Around 5 lakh women are affected &#119;&#105;&#116;&#104; &#116;&#104;&#105;&#115; disease worldwide. Cervical cancer &#105;&#115; prominent in rural areas as compared to urban areas, so, proper prevention &#109;&#117;&#115;&#116; be taken &#102;&#111;&#114; &#105;&#116;. Cervical vaccines should be taken &#097;&#116; around the age of 12 -14 &#111;&#114; before marriage.&#8221; </p>

<p>A &#118;&#101;&#114;&#121; informative session &#119;&#097;&#115; &#097;&#108;&#115;&#111; &#103;&#105;&#118;&#101;&#110; by Dr. Anupama Mane, Breast Cancer Surgeon, Sahyadri Hospital . &#115;&#104;&#101; spoke &#111;&#110; signs &#097;&#110;&#100; symptoms of breast cancer that will help in early detection. ?Changing lifestyle in rural areas &#097;&#110;&#100; &#116;&#104;&#101;&#105;&#114; becoming semi-urban leads to increase in the trends of cancer in women?, &#115;&#104;&#101; said. &#115;&#104;&#101; &#104;&#097;&#115; &#097;&#108;&#115;&#111; advised that women &#097;&#098;&#111;&#118;&#101; 40 years of age &#109;&#117;&#115;&#116; undergo mammography regularly. Kanchan Naikawadi, Director, Indus Health &#112;&#108;&#117;&#115; , &#119;&#104;&#111; &#119;&#097;&#115; &#097;&#108;&#115;&#111; present, said,?Early detection, in the case of cancer, &#099;&#097;&#110; help in prevention. &#116;&#104;&#105;&#115; &#105;&#115; a philosophy we strongly advocate through awareness campaigns &#097;&#110;&#100; such informative seminars.
