Back Labor, lol?!  a few weeks ago (the day after Christmas actually) I found that once again my back was raging with wretched pain.  It felt like early labor pains!  I remember with my first labor and delivery the baby was completely posterior, and Dr. Harvey had to turn the baby girl while she was in the birth canal.  Back labor was excruciatingly intense.  Sometime afterward, I remember reading that there is a high likelihood of back problems later in life for women who experience back labor.  Well, I guess I fit that statistic.  I’ve been haunted with lower back pain ever since.  It is like a ghost of her birth and the pain of her loss haunting me.

This time, I could not stand up straight and the pain shot through my left leg.  I went to the chiropractor, then to the primary doc who prescribed Tylenol w/ codine and Aleve, ice and rest.  They both felt that it was an inflamed or herniated disc.  the pain subsided as I stayed as motionless as possible for several days.  (Can you guess what my home looked like after that?!)  Now, just a month later, I am flat on my back again with extreme sciatica.  if I stand for even a few minutes at a time, I swear to god it is like I’m having back labor again!

I find the timing of this back pain rather ironic.  It feels like I am on the virtual verge of “finding” my dear beloved lost baby girl (I pray) and here I am feeling like I’m experiencing labor pains!  I wonder what the psychics would say about this physiological and or psychosomatic mind body connection?
