Yes, they are. but it could also just be your period on it's way depending on if you are ever irregular.

Sometimes hpts cant pick up someones HCG at all, but it's very rare.

I hear that certain STDs take a long time to surface, and sometimes never show symptoms. my question is a minimum time frame for symptoms to show. anyone have an idea on this?

Some STDs that are more superficial (like crabs) could show up immediately, but that would probably be obvious. Some bacterial infections could show up after just a couple of days. Trichomoniasis is a common bacterial infection that usually shows up after 5 days to a month.

3 days ago i met with a friends and yesterday he went to the hospital with high fever and feeling dizzy. the doctors said he has all the symptoms of swine flu and i was just wandering if i feel absolutely fine does that mean that i didn't take the virus from him or does it take a couple of days for the symptoms to manifest?

I have problems with gallstones and I called the nurse to tell her that I also have symptoms for Pancreatitis. the nurse decided, over the phone, that I do not need to see a doctor. the symptoms faded after a couple of days and I'm feeling much better, but I am still worried. I have diabetes and I have never seen my blood sugar go up when I'm sleeping night after night as it is doing now since I had the symptoms. my blood sugar is about 5 when I got o bed and about 6.5 when I get up in the morning so it's not much, but still a strange change for me.

Do I have a reason to worry or should I just relax? I'm waiting for surgery for the gallstones but it will take another couple of months.

I am not an expert but it is a good idea to eat a lot of healthy organic foods and I do know there are medicines you can take for gallstones. you might want to consult an informed nutritionist as an alternative to medical conventional advice.

should subside? I just completed a 7 day round for bacterial vaginosis (which my dr told me is common in pregnancy) and the symptoms are better but not completly gone. anyone know if they should be completly gone by now?

I would say they probably should be, or at least almost completely cleared up. you might need a second round of meds….if symptoms are still there after a couple of days, give the dr's office a call.

I went to the dr today because I had thrush – I have diabetes and get it a lot, although I haven't had it for about a year – it just suddenly came on a couple of days ago really bad. the dr tested my urine while I was there and said I have a urine infection (the stick was the darkest colour showing a strongly positive result), but I've never had one before and I don't have any symptoms except feeling a bit ill – nothing specific just not quite myself which I put down to the thrush getting me down a bit.

This all started when I had Cholera and Hep B vaccinations on Tuesday but I don't know if that's a coincidence?

The problem is that if I take the antibiotics for the uti it'll make the thrush worse so I don't want to take them if I don't have a urine infection. the dr said that sometimes thrush can cause a positive result for a uti but she'd give me antibiotics anyway and when I said wouldn't that make my thrush worse she was like 'yes a lot worse' but then prescribed me them anyway!! I've never had a urine infection before and I'm really not convinced that I have one now – should I take the antibiotics anyway?? What'll happen if I do have a uti and I don't take them? I feel like either way I could be making myself worse!

There are a couple of things you can do to ease the thrush, both sound a bit surprising. One is that you can bathe it with roouibosh tea (you can get it from health food shops if the supermarket hasn't got any) make it like ordinary tea and bathe as much of the area as you can get to with cotton wool dipped in the cool tea.(or just rinse your mouth with it if the thrush is there) this really does help. I have also read that putting live plain yogurt on it helps too, but haven't tried it. I would advise you to take the antibiotics because a urinary infection can make you feel very ill if left untreated. As soon as the course is finished eat plenty of plain yogurt which will help to replace the beneficial gut bacteria that the antibiotics will kill off.

You will probably end up like me, I got a freak kidney infection after a slight 2 day uti.
Since you have thrush you would have been given a prescription cream to end it.
Take them together, as having a kidney infection in my opinion is MUCH worse than having a thrush infection.

A couple of days ago, I began to feel some tingling sensation on the tip of my penis. Later in the day, I felt urges to urinate which was stronger during the night. I also had greater amounts of pre-***, which was clear. Yesterday, I began to feel some discomfort in the area directly below the testes and between the legs. I think it is inflammation or swelling, although the pain is not severe. I don’t have any pain in my penis or testes besides the sensation on the tip of my penis. Also, I don’t have any pain when I urinate and my urine is normal. It has only been 3 days that I have felt these symptoms. I am only 23 yrs old and I’m pretty worried. I have an appointment with the doctor in a week for a physical exam although she doesn’t know about this yet. do you think this is prostatitis? Please help.

one question… how much do you masturbate?? that is an issue experienced by many younger men who overwork their prostate gland. you may have some lower abdominal discomfort/pain at times, tingling/itching feeling just inside the urethra at the tip of the penis, a pressure/pain feeling in the area between the scrotum and anus, some minor discomfort upon urinating and/or ejaculating.

my suggestion: don't masturbate at all for a month and see if it gets better. it could be an overworked prostate or an ulcerated urethra. either can heal itself with time and proper fluids. drink water, cranberry juice, and green tea.

You would have the feeling of needing to urinate especially at night and then not be able to completely evacuate your bladder. you would not feel discomfort during urination. you would not have pain in the penis or testes. I am not sure about the feeling at the tip. 23 is young to have this, but it is possible. you will certainly tell the doctor about this situation.

No, if you had prostatitis you'd feel like you had to pee all the time and only a little bit would come out. It sounds like some sort of a nerve issue like a pinched nerver. Definitely tell your doctor about it next week.
