What were your symptoms?

i was trying to become pregnant so i was tracking my ovulation and knew when to look for signs. my last period was april 27. may 15 and 16 i ovulated and found out i was pregnant about may 28th. before i found out i ate 5 chicken breasts for dinner and my husband at 1… first sign! eating a ton.. a couple days before i found out i started cramping, was sure i was going to start a period.. after i found out within week 5 i was bloated every time i ate. week 6 i had horrible lower back aches and very sore breasts for a couple weeks. week 8 i started getting migraines (which are hereditary and come on during my pregnancies) and was dizzy when i would stand to fast… and of course throught all these weeks i was getting up in the middle of the night 2 to 3 times to use the bathroom and always craving ice water. i never experienced morning sickness with either of my pregnancies so not sure when that should start. i think anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks and can happen day or night through the whole pregancy for some people.

oh ya and i kept yelling at my husband over everything lol

I 1st started getting sore breasts but that had been an af symptom for the past 3 months so i wasn't convinced. I then started getting much more acne than usual. Then missed period but i was irregular on that. A few days later i just had this sudden feeling to take a test then it came out pregnant. was very surprised and i am very happy

i knew i was pregnant before i even took the test because i threw up then realized i was late for my period. yup turns out i was 6 weeks pregnant..haha. with my daughter i didn't have any symptoms until 16 weeks when she started to move and my boobs started leaking.

I started getting symptoms before my missed period that were equivalent to PMS symptoms…but what made me realize I was pregnant was experiencing nausea. I was 5 days late and when I took a HPT, it was positive.

Obviously a missed period, but apart from that i started getting morning sickness around 6 weeks.

I knew something was wrong at 2 weeks but I'm 3 weeks nd my breast r super soar now I took a hpt nd its positive

Is this possible? Isn't it the hormone that makes you feel nauseous, tired, etc.? So, if there isn't enough hormone in your body yet for the test to pick up on, then there can't be enough hormone in your body yet to cause symptoms, right? can anyone clear this up?

Yes, it's possible. I thought that sounded nuts until it happened to me. I started feeling pregnant almost right away. I was tired and felt like I had horrible PMS. No nausea, though. It was a couple weeks after that started before I got a positive test.

Yeah, most people really don't feel anything until about 8 weeks, and then they get tired/sick. before then those symptoms can easily be confused with period symptoms.

well at 3 weeks pregnant i was urinating alot, tender breast, and mood swings. i found out a day 2 days before my period was due.

I say yes!!!! I always just KNEW I was pregnant, before I even missed one period! I would feel faint. I would know right away.

I work in a vets and we have had a campylobactor patient in, but that was a couple weeks ago any ideas?

It may be the end of the holiday season, but it looks like the flu season is getting under way.

Influenza activity began to increase across the United States for this year’s flu season shortly after the holidays.  Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, new York and Virginia are experiencing high levels of flu, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Other states are also beginning to see an increase in flu activity, including Illinois. 

the Logan County Department of Public Health has confirmed a few flu cases in the last couple weeks. 

“Local flu activity remains low at this point, but is beginning to increase in our area,” Mary Anderson, a communicable disease nurse with the health department.

 Symptoms of the flu include fever, coughing, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headaches, body aches, chills and fatigue. 

Vaccination is the best protection against contracting the flu. Those 6 months of age and older should get vaccinated against the flu every year. the combined seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccine is available at the Logan County Department of Public Health through the walk-in clinic from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or on the H.O.P.E mobile during its regularly scheduled stops. 

in addition to getting the flu vaccine, there are other simple steps people can take to prevent the spread of flu:

•  clean your hands frequently with warm soap and water or an alcohol-based hand gel.
•  Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or use your elbow, not your hands.
•  contain your germs by staying home when sick until your fever is gone without the use of fever reducing medications.

I've had 4 "attacks", each one worst than the last. I get nauseous and severe pain all across my stomach – not lower abdomen, not right under my chest.. right in the midde. I don't have a thermometer, but I get extremely hot so I might have a fever as well. The pain comes at night (not 4 consecutive nights, it's been spaced out over a couple weeks) in the evening after dinner and it hurt so bad this past time that I just had to go to bed. Tums does not help. Curling up in a ball hurts MORE than stretching out flat on my back. Moving also hurts. I can't really tell if it hurts to touch my stomach, but I don't think so.

Could this be gallstones?

It sounds like a good possibilty. The reason it's happening at night and after dinner is the attacks are usually triggered by certain food, usually fatty or gas producing foods. It usually is mostly on the right side, but the pain can be so wide spread that it can be in the middle too. The big thing is a lot of times it shoots into your back. Since they are getting worse and worse I'll worn you that you will start becoming more and more sick, some people start vomiting during these attacks due to the pain. This however is easy to diagnose and a very simple surgery to fix (usually can be done out patient). an ultrasound will diagnose it. I would call your doctor as soon as you can and watch what you eat to control the attacks until you can get it taken care of.

gallstone pain usuallly (but not always) happens after you have consumed a meal high in fat. The pain is constant. There are no highs or lows. It starts suddenly and ends the same way. Attacks can last hours or minutes. Sometimes nausea comes with them, only if you have had severe attacks that last for more than 4 hours. Generally the pain is felt below your ribs on the opposite side of your stomach or most typically in between your shoulder blades on your back.

I know this cause I had 19 attacks before my surgery for gallstones and then another 16 even more painful attacks after my surgery. Sometimes a stone gets trapped in the bile duct after they take out your gallbladder….then it has to migrate down the tube itself….thus the pain!

Potentially yes, but not necessarily. It would be really useful for you to see your doctor in order to have an abdominal ultrasound examination and blood tests (liver enzymes, bilirubin, pancreas enzymes and a complete blood count) arranged.

It could be. Ive had gall bladder problems before, but it doesn't sound like the right place. usually, you'll feel a lot of pressure under your right breast, and it hurts!!! if the pain is random like you say, i suggest you go talk to a doctor about it. It doesn't hurt to check.

I've taken antibiotics 3 times in the last 2 months to treat recurring std symptoms. the first time I was tested and came back positive for chlamydia, took the drink and single pill they gave on the spot. Symptoms started to go away then came back. I took doxycycline twice a day for a week and symptoms went away, then a couple weeks later returned. I got a refill on the doxycycline and got tested, the symptoms (urethral discharge, slight itching in anal area) have gone 95% away but I was surprised to learn that the chlamydia/gonnorhea/syphilis test I took last week when the symptoms were worst came back NEGATIVE across the board. my symptoms as I said are almost gone again now that I completed the doxycycline refill, but I still have a faint discharge and itching and I just have a terrible feeling the symptoms are going to come back again full-force in another week or two, which is how it's been going. Could I be getting reinfected through laundry? What else could possibly be going on?

couple weeks ago i was reading a medical book and was looking for symtoms of prostate cancer. and my dad shows all the symptoms. he is 43. he went to the doctors in october and they said there was no cancer cells found. he went last friday and they found nothing. im trying my best to stay positive but it really bothers me that he shows the symptoms. men, did this happen to you before or had prostate cancer?

i,ve had prostate cancer. if they did a biopsy and said no he,s all set. just needs a psa test every year to make sure

i hit my arm really hard because of an accident. it bruised very badly and was swolen . it looked like my arm was bent and it now has hard stuff under the skin adn it still hurts after a couple weeks is it just a bone bruise?
