I hear that certain STDs take a long time to surface, and sometimes never show symptoms. my question is a minimum time frame for symptoms to show. anyone have an idea on this?

Some STDs that are more superficial (like crabs) could show up immediately, but that would probably be obvious. Some bacterial infections could show up after just a couple of days. Trichomoniasis is a common bacterial infection that usually shows up after 5 days to a month.

Minimum time frame would be just a couple of days.

Sexually Transmitted Disease or commonly known as STD is really sounds a bell to anyone. STDs are diseases that are chiefly passed from one person to another during sexual activities or more likely in intercourse. Although STDs are not predictable by just looking at an individual, it is still best to know its common symptoms and the most common ones that are sexually transmitted.

STD symptoms vary, but the most common are soreness, unusual lumps or sores, itching, pain when urinating, and/or an unusual discharge from the genitals. The following are a list of some of the common STDs and some other genital disease.• Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is not strictly an STD as it is not transmitted via sexual intercourse. It is caused by an imbalance in the normal healthy bacteria found in the vagina and although it is relatively harmless and may pass unnoticed, it can sometimes produce an abundance of unpleasant fishy smelling discharge.• Chlamydia it is caused by the Chlamydia trachomatis bacterium. It infects the urethra, rectum and eyes in both sexes, and the cervix in women. if left untreated, long-term infection can lead to fertility problems in women.• Crabs or Pubic Lice are small crab-shaped parasites that burrow into the skin to feed on blood. They live on coarse body hair, predominantly pubic hair, but can also be found in armpit hair, facial hair and even on eyelashes. The lice are yellow-grey in colour and use their crab-like claws to grip hair strands. They can sometimes be spotted moving on the skin.• Genital warts are caused by some sub-types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear on the skin anywhere in the genital area as small whitish or flesh-coloured bumps, or larger, fleshy, cauliflower-like lumps.• Gonorrhea (once known as the clap) is a sexually transmitted infection that can infect the urethra, cervix, rectum, anus and throat. Symptoms usually appear between 1 and 14 days after exposure, but it is possible to have no symptoms.

These STDs as what have been mentioned may sometimes be passed on unnoticed. but just a rule of the thumb, always keep yourself clean and most of all, your intentions. there is never wrong on the right time.

What STDs can you catch where you will feel symptoms the next day?

EXAMPLE: You are exposed to herpes, the next day could/would you feel any symptoms from it?

you would NOT show signs of herpes the very next day.. its a few days later; i think 3-7
Im not sure about any other diseases; but Id imagine crabs since its a bug that makes u itch, but i really dont know, sorry i cant be of more help

yeast infection, gonorrea,remember you might not feel it the next next day, it might take a few to develop. but if you wake up with a fever, you might be in bad shape…

This is a bit bizarre…some wacky medical British Blokes have discovered a way for cell phones and computers to let folks know if they got that herp, the sauce, crabs, or the clap:

Mobile Phones and computers will soon be able to diagnose sexually transmitted diseases under innovative plans to cut the UK’s rising rate of herpes, chlamydia and gonorrhoea among young people.

Doctors and technology experts are developing small devices, similar to pregnancy testing kits, that will tell someone quickly and privately if they have caught an infection through sexual contact.

People who suspect they have been infected will be able to put urine or saliva on to a computer chip about the size of a USB chip, plug it into their phone or computer and receive a diagnosis within minutes, telling them which, if any, sexually transmitted infection (STI) they have. Seven funders, including the Medical Research Council, have put £4m into developing the technology via a forum called the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.

Sexual health experts hope it will help reduce the growing number of STIs, which have increased for the last decade and reached a record 482,696 last year. Two-thirds of women reporting a new STI were under 25, as were more than half of men.

The self-testing devices are aimed at technology-savvy young people. Public health experts are concerned that, although most STIs occur among that age group, many are too embarrassed to visit a GP or a genito-urinary medicine clinic to get tested and therefore continue to suffer and potentially pass the disease on. Doctors hope that the ability to obtain a private, confidential diagnosis will overcome their widespread reluctance to take a test.

The developers of the rapid testing devices expect them to be sold for as little as 50p or £1 each in vending machines in nightclubs, pharmacies and in supermarkets, as condoms are. They are drawing on nanotechnology and microfluidics, the creation of miniaturised laboratories.

“your mobile phone can be your mobile doctor. it diagnoses whether you’ve got one of a range of STIs, such as chlamydia or gonorrhea and tells you where to go next to get treatment,” said Dr Tariq Sadiq, a senior lecturer and consultant physician in sexual health and HIV at St George’s, University of London, who is leading the project. “We need to tackle the rising epidemic of STIs, which have been going up and up and up. Britain is one of the worst [countries] in western Europe for teenage pregnancy and STIs. that there’s a major embarrassment factor here, especially among young people, makes the situation worse.” Some people do not get tested because they choose to do nothing about their symptoms, such as an itch or discharge, or dislike clinics’ waiting lists or opening times. With some STIs people can remain infectious, even when the initial symptoms have disappeared.

We’re not so sure about this one. especially since once the tech savvy infected people are diagnosed, they STILL have to go to the clinic to get treated…unless these cell phone apps can prescribe medicine as well.
