Donate at the next American Red Cross Community Blood Drive from 2-7 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Mayfield Village Community Room, 6621 Wilson Mills.

Eligible donors must be at least 17, weigh at least 110 pounds, in good health with no flu symptoms and not taking antibiotic medication. the participants last donation has to more than 56 days prior to this event.

A photo identification or Red Cross card must be presented to donate blood. Participants are asked to bring in names of medications currently being taken.

Participants should plan to spend an hour to go through the entire blood drive. Eat and drink plenty of water before donating blood.

Questions about eligibility can be answered in advance of the drive by calling the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. Ask for the “donor suitability” department.

More opportunities to donate blood to the American Red Cross will be offered in March and May.
