im 28 male and had testicle pain went to doctor got ct scan and seen resolving epididymitiis he never gave me antibiotic. now i have enlarged prostate/prostatitis and finally gave me antibiotic. this is very bothersome only symptom i got now is rectum pressure and feeling of sitting on golfball at times it comes and goes. put me on aleve regimen and zpack(Azithroymicin) any help on what to do or expect?

I think I have stomach virus. I ate this morning feeling just fine, then when I got to school, I felt like I had to.. um, poop.. and then I started to throw up. I thought I would be okay after that, but all the way until lunch i still felt like I was bout to throw up, and I almost did, but I stopped myself. then we had lunch, I thought I was fine, but after 10 or so minutes, I felt like had to use the bathroom again, then threw up 3 or 4 times. .

Vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea — and everything else you described.

Slip clear, room temp liquids, 30 minutes after the last time you vomit. then slowly progress onto eating bland foods such as oatmeal, bananas, toast, rice, broth, etc…. and once you keep these down – then move onto more solid foods.

Rest your stomach, try and get some sleep, and tell mom or dad. you need to stay hydrated and if you cannot keep fluids down for more than a few hours – tell mom or dad. Dehydration is dangerous and is common when you don't eat or drink following an episode of vomiting.

Well, that certainly sounds like text book stomach virus/flu. If it lasts more than 3 days, see a doctor. If you start having lower back pain, it could be Kidney stones, see a doctor immediately in this scenario.

My boyfriend has recently been experiencing pain, redness, and slight swelling in his foot and ankle. Both his dad and his brother have suffered from blood clots. What tests can he have done to see if that is what is causing his problems? Also, do these sound like DVT symptoms?

Unfortunately, I think I have diabetes. I have been having many of the symptoms (frequent urination, I'm more thirsty, etc) …but I'm not sure of this yet. I blames this on myself, being an overweight 16 year old teenage girl who doesn't exercise. also my dad has it..so it can be genetic? But I have no idea. anyways, I've been having pain under my left ribs going around towards my left to the back.

Very doubtful-I have been diabetic for over 10 years & have never had a pain in my pancreas even when I was 1st diagnosed. get your A1C blood test to see if you are even diabetic.

Not in my experience. Genetic Diabetes = #1 and you are born with it. #2 is the one you get as you get older. Go to a pharmacy or clinic and have your sugar levels tested. No more doubt. Fast, cheap and accurate.

The accurate diagnosis of diabetes is to be made by blood tests- fasting blood glucose and HbA1c- to begin with…highly important in itself-especially given your symptoms- and- should it be diabetes- to treat toward preventing short-run and long run complications…
And to your question- the pain you described seems to me unrelated in itself to possible or probable diabetes…it much depends of the duration- whether the pain has ben there for a couple of days, weeks or more… questions are to be asked in real life – by your attending doctor-and probably additional tests- such as abdominal ultrasound and blood tests may have to be ordered… try not to neglect…. get to your Family Doctor- there…

My husband has been out of the country for 9 months now and our 3 year old has been showing depression symptoms. He is constantly crying for his Daddy. I don't know what to do. We don't know when we'll see my husband again.

Twenty years ago my dad went to bed with pressure in his abdomen. he thought it was gas so he popped some antacids and tried to sleep. But the pressure grew and became unbearable. My mom found him pale and pacing the bedroom some hours later.

She called 9-1-1 and told the operator that my father had probably had a heart attack, but because he had abdominal pain, doctors did not initially treat him for that. Hours were lost. My father died. the cause was a heart attack.

It is a dreadful moment not unlike what many others have faced. when exactly is the pain you are experiencing evidence of a heart attack? the good news is that what happened to my family wouldn’t happen today.

Yes, symptoms still get misread but there has been a lot of progress made in technology and the way doctors approach heart disease in recent years.

“I’m always hammering into my nurses that as far as I’m concerned, anything from the pelvis up to the neck is a heart attack until proven otherwise,” says Dr. Santo Polito, interventional cardiologist and medical director of cardiovascular services at Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center.

A heart attack is sudden and intense, and in the lead-up, men and women often experience different warning signs. it could be a crushing pressure-like discomfort in the chest associated with shortness of breath, cold sweats and vomiting or unexplainable flu-like symptoms with no chest pain whatsoever as in 70 percent of all heart attacks in women.

According to the American Heart Association, it kills more women each year than men. in fact it’s the no. 1 killer of women 65 and older. part of the reason is that women’s symptoms are often subtle or their pain occurs in areas not typically associated with a heart attack, such as the jaw or the abdomen.

Men’s symptoms can be just as misleading.

Whatever the symptoms, the no. 1 rule of thumb says Dr. Raluca Arimie, a cardiologist at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, is to get it checked out.

Chest pain doesn’t always signal a heart attack, which happens to be the subject of Arimie’s upcoming seminar at Northridge Hospital on Feb. 24. Dubbed “What’s That Crushing Feeling in My Chest,” she offers a range of culprits, from indigestion and muscle strain to angina (when a portion of the heart isn’t getting enough oxygenated blood).

Of course angina can range in severity, from mild to a precursor of a heart attack. given the statistics it’s best to check it with your doctor.

“Even if it’s not a heart attack it could be a pulmonary embolism (sudden blockage of the lung artery), it could be arrhythmia (an irregular heart beat) or it could be something else significant,” she says.

It could also be a false alarm.

Emergency rooms are often filled with people (and mostly men) who think they’ve had a heart attack. It’s for that reason, Glendale Memorial Hospital created the Chest Pain Center – the only accredited center of its kind in the region.

The center opened more than a year ago in a separate room in the emergency department. according to Polito, an average of 40 people per month come into the center, where they are immediately given an electrocardiogram (a test to check the heart’s electrical activity), followed by a blood test.

Another blood test is done two hours later with all the testing and analysis done at bedside. if there are any doubts about the results doctors follow up with a stress test (a measure of the blood flow to the heart both at rest and during exercise through imaging).

In four to eight hours after walking through the center’s door, a patient knows if it’s cardiac related. if there is no problem (as is the case 99 percent of the time) the person is released with instructions to follow up with his or her primary care physician about other causes.

Right now there are two beds with plans for another four “barcaloungers” and televisions to help patients pass the time between tests at the center.

But no one is bedridden here.

“We’ve created a different environment that’s not so scary and it’s not so onerous,” says Polito, who began envisioning the center five years ago. “We’re helping people the way we should.

“And because you’re in the Chest Pain Center, you don’t run up a huge bill like you would in the hospital,” he says, adding other hospitals are looking to follow Glendale’s lead.

For now their big push is educating the public about the ways to prevent heart disease through proper diet, exercise and clean living.

As Arimie says, “once heart disease is there we can only treat it but we cannot cure it. So the more we learn the better off we are.”

My mother has left me and my dad, and shes going around the town with all of these different men.

I cant eat,sleep, i don't want to do anything and i hate everyone, i am shaking constantly and im isolating myself from everyone.

This is a very difficult situation. To answer your question most directly, psychology does not recognize the existence of an actual nervous breakdown, but no matter what you want to call it, you are having an extreme response to stress, and if you are having a physical reaction in terms of not being able to eat, sleep, hating everyone, isolating yourself, and shaking constantly, then you may be experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. I need more information, namely have you ever felt this way before? If so, for how long? how did you deal with it? for how long have you experienced this most recent episode? Have these symptoms improved or have they gotten worse?

Is there anyone you can really trust who can listen for you? Your father, a sibling, a close friend or other family member? If you are isolating yourself, you might want to try to seek out some kind of positive contact with at least one other person, even if it's only over the phone. and if you would prefer to speak with someone who isn't close to you, there are varied help lines available that you can call (teen help lines if you are a young person, other help lines if you are over 20, and several nonprofits and religious organizations have suicide prevention help lines that you can call–please don't consider that option and never forget that things will get better). also, with the symptoms that you are experiencing, you can get a doctor to prescribe Lexpro or Vicadin or another such drug if you want to go that route, but that's definitely your prerogative and is not necessary.

Your world seems upside down. Ok it can be like that for a while. The good thing is that it won't always be like that.

The picture you have about your mother has possibly been dishevelled somewhat, talk to her. See what she is feeling . there is a deep reason why she has done the thing she has done. put yourself in her place, perhaps that will help both you and her.
It sounds as if she needs approving meeting the different men.

Give her time and understanding, she might have been really unhappy for ages and now she is flourishing and it may seem incomprehensible to you, she is perhaps as happy as ever.
The fact that your parents are not together anymore doesn't mean they don't love you. I would detest my parents to be together as they are so different!

You are capable of making your own common sense decisions, so therefore you should just concentrate on enjoying you and your stuff. that means taking care of what you eat, how you sleep, and be aware of not isolating yourself as that will not benefit anyone. take care of something you like, such as if you have a pet, or a hobby such as writing or painting, or a sport or what ever it may be. I think you know what I mean. as soon as you divert your anger and upset to that you feel , you will be a calm person who in the end can say "ok, I have myself" . that is a good thing.

He needs to take 75mg of asprin everyday to thin the blood to keep him going.

It can cause blood clots, so it is important to do this.
