My son is suffering from gallstones. Some times he suffer in vomitting and indisation. the local docter give him some medicine then he cure. but after that again he fall in disease. Is it occure for the gallstone?

You feel like your stomach is literally on fire! You cramp, feel like you are going to throw up. Stay away from dairy, spicy and greasy foods!! I had mine taken out 12 years ago, same day surgery, felt much better after wards! Hope your son is better soon!!!

Pain lots and lots of pain.

I had my Gall Bladder removed recently. You have the symptoms of diarrhea and side pain. I wasn't sick though. I felt excellent after having the Surgery done. I was sent home the same day. I had the Surgery where my Mom works.

My nan has them.
She has found a way to cope with them – so, she can avoid surgery, by not eating rich foods, as this used to make her vomit and made life, extremely painful for herself.

I went to the doctor recently for a check-up. She took my blood and a few days later she told me that it was a bit irregular, and that it's possible I might have gallstones. I've been having stomach pains for the past few days but I don't know if it's symptoms of gallstones or just my period about to come. if it were to be gallstones, what would be the symptoms?? I'm really scared if it is, I've never had surgery in my life

stone cause left tummy pain very low almost at the bladder. if also usually will give you frequent urination. cloudy urine and somtimes even blood in the urine. you may have gallstone but often they arent an issue if left alone untill they start to become painful. when they grow to a large size and press on teh nerves inside of the gallbladder it will be so painful you most likley will throw up from pain. if that isnt the case and thares no blood in teh urine or cloudy urine and you arent peeing every five mins. then even if you do have them they arent a big issue yet. its always a good idea to have them removed to prevent problems but its not super urgent if you arent having these kinds of symptoms.

Gallstones you would have so much pain that you would think you were having a heart attack.
In fact until they rule it out that is what most doctors think you are having, stomach pains mean you could have an infection or coming down with something like the flu;blood work with high white count confirms it.

(The gallstones are "silent.") their gallstones often are found as a result of tests (for example, ultrasound or X-ray examination of the abdomen) performed while evaluating medical conditions other than gallstones. Symptoms can appear later in life, however, after many years without symptoms. Thus, over a period of five years, approximately 10% of people with silent gallstones will develop symptoms. Once symptoms develop, they are likely to continue and often will worsen.

Gallstones are blamed for many symptoms they do not cause. among the symptoms gallstones do not cause are:

• dyspepsia (including abdominal bloating and discomfort after eating),
• intolerance to fatty foods,
• belching, and
• flatulence (passing gas or farting).

When signs and symptoms of gallstones occur, they virtually always occur because the gallstones obstruct the bile ducts.

The most common symptom of gallstones is biliary colic. Biliary colic is a very specific type of pain, occurring as the primary or only symptom in 80% of people with gallstones who develop symptoms. • It is a constant pain, it does not come and go, though it may vary in intensity while it is present.
• It lasts for 15 minutes to 4-5 hours. if the pain lasts more than 4-5 hours, it means that a complication – usually cholecystitis – has developed.
• The pain usually is severe, but movement does not make the pain worse. in fact, patients experiencing biliary colic often walk about or writhe (twist the body in different positions) in bed trying to find a comfortable position.
• Biliary colic often is accompanied by nausea.
• Most commonly, biliary colic is felt in the middle of the upper abdomen just below the sternum.
• The second most common location for pain is the right upper abdomen just below the margin of the ribs.
• Occasionally, the pain also may be felt in the back at the lower tip of the scapula on the right side.
• on rare occasions, the pain may be felt beneath the sternum and be mistaken for angina or a heart attack.
• An episode of biliary colic subsides gradually once the gallstone shifts within the duct so that it is no longer obstructing.

Biliary colic is a recurring symptom. Once the first episode occurs, there are likely to be other episodes. Also, there is a pattern of recurrence for each individual, that is, for some individuals the episodes tend to remain frequent while for others they tend to remain infrequent. The majority of people who develop biliary colic do not go on to develop cholecystitis or other complications.

my pains are between my rib cage and they feel like fiery pricks and they have not stopped all night and morning….it feels like a basketball in my belly, does this sound like possible gall bladder?

Probably not. Sorry to hear that you are feeling that way! the reason I wanted to answer this is because my husband had a gull bladder attack just about a month ago. now he was doubled over in the floor and said it felt like a tightening in his chest and a house on his rib cage, (right side). he threw up all he ate (sorry to be so gross) and had to go to the bathroom alot (#2) and it was like water. he stayed in the hospitol for 3 days, had to have 3 shots of different pain killers, and that still had to take a good hold of him til he felt no pain! So if you are in here able to type the question then i really dont believe it is that serious, but you should still get checked, cause any discomfort can be something!!!

I had a gallstone and my gallbladder got infected. the strange part was, I felt the pain on my left side..the doctor said it was common..so don't think if the pain is on the left, it's not a gallbladder problem.
I felt bloated.. was constantly using the bathroom and threw up for about 3 days straight before I finally decided it wasn't intestinal flu and went to the doctor.

my mother in law is in the hospital right now getting hers removed. I would go to the doctor. It got so bad when she ate or drank anything it would hurt her til finally she almost past out from the pain. She had a gall stone blocking up everything and she got Jaundice from it and they were afraid her liver was becoming infected and when that happens you get a fever and you have about two hours to live so GO TO THE DOCTOR!

Your gallbladder is located on your right side, right under the bottom of your ribcage. When I had gallstones and attacks, it felt like a very intense pressure there. I Was also very sick to my stomach, felt bloated, like I was going to throw up, etc. but, my pain came and went. It wasn't constant. You should call your doctor.

There are lots of symptoms and some people get all of them others get some. I am two weeks post op having had my gallbladder removed and the relief is immense.

I don't wish symptomatic gallbladder disease on anyone and so if you do think you may have gallstones please go and see your Dr asap. I had gallstone induced pancreatitis in December that put me in hospital, I then had cholecystitis (gallbladder infection) in January and was in hospital for a further 8 days. I couldn't wait to get my gallbladder removed and would have the same operation 1000 times rather than go through the pain and suffering I did.

Mine come with occasional heartburn, but most often it hits me when I'm laying down, out of the blue I start feeling real nauseated, it usually only lasts for a minute or two then it's gone. It's not so much painful as it is uncomfortable, the feeling of sickness, nausea, blah!

Every time you eat anything fatty you will get a severe pain in your back. you will probably feel sick as well. if you have these symptoms please consult your doctor asap.

Ok I had gallstones and I had key holes surgery to remove the gallbladder.

The gallbladder is situated just below the liver on the right side of your body just under the ribs. the pain of gallbladder trouble comes on in spasms and is very severe and colicky because a stone oftens gets trapped in the bile duct. It becomes so severe you are double and bent over with pain. you will also be very sick and nauseated. my gallbladder was so full of stones it was ready to burst. you will also feel very tender and sore below your ribs.

I had my gallbladder out when I was 21 years old. Ugh, the attacks were horrible!!

I started noticing that whenever I ate something really greasy or spicy I would get this horrible pain under the right side of my ribcage. It didn't happen immediately, but about 2 to 12 hours later. It would last for a day, and nothing I did would make the pain lessen.

This happened the first time after I ate pizza when I was about 5 months pregnant. I got this pain, and it was so bad that I threw up. I didn't think anything about it at the time, thought the baby didn't like Pizza Hut.

The next time it happened, my son was about 18 months old. I had eaten a chicken burrito from Taco Bell. It was so bad this time (and I had just graduated from college in nursing) that I knew what it was and had my friend take me to the emergency room. I had pain under my rib cage across my entire belly, down the right side of my chest from my shoulder to the end of my rib cage, and down both sides of my back.

The doctor in the ER knew what I was having, and gave me pain medication. They did an ultrasound of my gallbladder, and, sure enough, there were the stones.

I've been diagnose with gallstone problems and my doctor sent me to a specialist. the specialist barely let me finish talking once he has seen how much I weigh and that I have fibromyalgia. he says that I have IBS not gallstone problems. I need help understanding this, how the symptoms add up.

Symptoms:
Strong sudden pain under the right ribcage that sometimes spread to the left side.
Lasts up to 4 hours then it fades, but it has happened that a dull, nagging pain had lingered on for days until the next emergency.
The pain goes in waves and there is time to "rest" and take a breath now and then.
It often it happens after eating and often I wake up in the middle of the night from the pain. (Mostly after eating a heavy meal late in the evening.)
Sweating and shaking.
Cramps that often causes me to vomit.
Sometimes diarrhoea and sometimes I feel "bloated" during the worst of the pain attack but that's not often.

An ultra sound showed that I have stones in the gallbladder.

The reason why I was sent to the specialist was because of new symptoms:
The pain spread from under the ribcage and up into my chest as well as up my back between my shoulder blades and it also shot out into my shoulders/upper arms. it was similar to how I imagine a weak heart attack could feel.
Fever for over a week.
White (or close to white) stools that was oily and floated. after a couple of days it was more like white porridge.
My blood sugar started to raise during the night when I was sleeping.

I feared that my pancreas was being affected.

All symptoms stopped 2 weeks before I got to see the specialist.

I'm female, over 40, have diabetes and fibromyalgia, have lost weight but is still over weight, have a family history of gallstone problems and I take cholesterol-lowering drug. I don't eat many of the "danger foods" for gallstone problems but I have eaten eggs a few times without anything happening, just as I have eaten eggs and then been in pain hours after that.

All this, is according to the specialist signs of me having IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome), that and the fact that I'm the mother of a 20 year old and a 17 year old. Women who have given birth don't get problems from gallstones he says, they have stones but they don't cause problems. my problem is therefore IBS.
