my husband is having issues. he has had hemmroid problems before. he has never been like he was today, lots of pain in his lower back, stomach, and rectum. he refuses to go to the doctor. hardheaded.

I had colon cancer. My symptoms did not show up until the tumor got quite large. first sign was long periods of pain in the region of what seemed like my stomach which got worse as time went by until it was hurting all night long. next sign was sudden weight loss (4 pounds in one month without trying to lose weight). next symptom was tiredness (low iron because the tumor was bleeding). I could not see blood in my stool but a test I had run detected it. if he's got ongoing pain then he really should be seeing a gastroenterologist. It took me about a year and a half to figure out what was wrong with me after tests. thank God I was persistent because that is what saved me. I had surgery one year ago today, September 5th. I never dreamed I would ever get cancer and I was trying to do all the right things. It will be a huge mistake if he doesn't go to the doctor to find out what is wrong with him. It could cost him his life.

In my experince, it will not advise you as to what you have, only whether or not it may be serious enough to warrant going to the doctor, or even the emergency room.

Well, if nothing came up on your MRI (EEG only has to do with heart beat), then I would go to a neurologist.
But whatever you do, pls dont self-diagnose. just suck up the copay and go to a medical professional.

I can't seem to sit still wihtout feeling restless and have the need to move about all of the time.
Focusing on things is hard because my mind gets distracted onto other things.
It's hard if not impossible to get things done because of this inability to stay focused on one thing.
I feel worried about all too many things at once and an uncomfortable feeling of persistent inability to stay calm makes anxiety affect my ability to get things done?

ur mind has taken control of u… dont leave it like that… when it begins to wander say stop with firmness.. do it till u hold it in ur control… it will force u to give up for sure… but dont lose… go for meditation… if u cant meditate, light acandle n look at the flame for a few mts.. make it apractise to do it sametime sameplace everyday… its ur mind.. u can only control it..

I've been recently diagnosed with HPV and I definitely didn't think anything like this or worse would happen to me. I've already had one procedure done, had the check-up after, everything was fine. just had my routine pap and am waiting for my results, praying to God that everything is still fine and no problems. I'm just unsure about having sex again…if it's going make the symptoms worse or make me worse. if anyone can help me out with this I'd really appreciate it because I'm scared about the entire problem that I now have to live with for the rest of my life.

Hmm I didnt actually know that until you just told me. I do know there is something quite spiritual about schizophrenia, I wont forget the time on the train, there was a schizophrenic woman going nuts on the train talking and screaming out loud saying she was going to kill herself and stuff, I got this feeling that I was supposed to pray and I did (not out loud), suddenly she just stopped and was quiet the rest of the trip, which was a considerable way I might add, 30 minz or so.

I'm going to advise you to see your doctor again for this one. although you already had the flu once you can get a different kind of the strain. The other thing is since you're already 3 days into the symptoms that my concern is that something more might be going on. If these symptoms aren't any better at all then you could have mono and since this is a very contagious and debilitating disease your doctor needs to treat you as soon as possible. Even a virus needs to be diagnosed because of the illness's that can be contagious and overall much worse than a bacteria. although there's no cure there are medications that can ease the symptoms.good luck with whatever you decide to do and God Bless.
BTW- with tomorrow being a holiday, if you're going to be around relatives you should talk this over with your parents. If you do have a contagious condition, you might spread it to others. your parents might want you to be seen tonight in an urgent care clinic or an ER

Get on the internet and do a search for liver sclerosis, or look in an encyclopedia. do your own homework. in the time it takes you to wait for someone on here to respond with an accurate answer (which that rarely happens), you could have your project almost finished.

When you hear voices in your head, how does it feel? are you frightened? Can you start to ignore them after you understand you have schizophrenia?

Honey with this disease knowledge is power. when I first began getting sick the things I would see and hear would indeed scare me. I didn't know what was going on, things can seem so real. later I began to learn and then sometimes could say o.k. that is not really there that is such and such symptom. I try to compensate. After a while the stuff happens and you just start kind of getting used to it. now that of course doesn't work all the time. I had a command voice which was so loud and would tell me dangerous things. Such as PULL OUT NOW, in traffic when there was a car coming. and what was so frightening is that my body reacted immediatly and obeyed. Thank God that has left me. now my voices are pretty low key except in stressful situations. It is just nonsense phrases, lots of echoes, sometimes instructions (mostly helpful) comments on what I am doing, She is sitting now. I do still see things but not so horrific, actually pretty mundane. the other day there was quite a large turtle in the driveway, plain as day. I just stopped and waited oh just a small bit and then it was gone. you can train yourself to have some control if you are fortunate enough to have insight into your illness. as years go by you quit being so startled. Keep working at it honey, you can do things to help yourself.

I worked my way through college with a full time job and an apartment in the city.

In late 2006, while in graduate school and teaching in the inner city, I started having stomach pains with mucousy stool and went to the doctor. he said I was constipated and told me to begin a high fiber diet. When I complained of the blood that began coming with the weird stools I was told that I had hemorrhoids, which I completely didn’t understand since there were no bloody veins coming out of my hoo-ha. it was three more visits before I learned you could have internal hemorrhoids. I was given some drug that you inserted rectally. this did nothing.

I remember going to my cousin’s baby shower and spending most of it in the bathroom, horribly embarrassed as women came in and out. The 40 minute drive back to my house was agonizing as I unsuccessfully tried to hold in what needed to come out. I prayed to God my fiancé was not home to witness my humiliation.In 2007, I got married. my symptoms were on hiatus. Six months later, surprise, I was pregnant. I was teaching at a new school finishing up my graduate degree and having a normal pregnancy. But then all hell broke loose.

I called my mother in Boston and asked her to come to me in Philadelphia, as I didn’t think my husband could handle being my nurse. I began to learn that modesty was something the sick cannot afford. But, by that point any lady like personae I may have had was in the past. Every conversation I had was with a medical staff person and all I spoke of was blood, vomit, the consistency of my crap and the amount of time I spent on the toilet. after an endoscopy, I was placed on enemas and drugs. Drugs that they promised wouldn’t harm my daughter. Every ultrasound revealed a thriving little fetus inside my ravaged little body. The suppositories aimed at lessening the inflammation didn’t work. Anti-inflammation pills came next.

Autism is not a yes or no diagnosis. There is actually many "levels" of autism that can be demonstrated in children. In fact, they call it the Autism Spectrum.

My son was just clinically tested for autism and to be honest with you, there's no way I could have performed those tests. my son was found NOT to have autism, but ADHD, which is somewhat different.

His symptoms were alienation from his peers, trouble in school, trouble with his handwriting skills, forgetfulness, etc.

You're not going to be able to diagnose something like this on your own and be certain. The best thing you can do for your son is find a really good pediatric doctor and start down the path of identifying your son's needs. whether he has some level of autism, ADD, ADHD or other diagnosis, the sooner you get started towards finding an effective treatment, the better off your son will be.

Well, lack of speech is a big sign. Or lack of social interaction, no eye contact, not liking to be touched…all signs. very picky or unusual eating habits, thats a big one. The main thing with my son is that it is very hard to get his attention. It has gotten better, but when he was first diagnosed, you could say his name maybe 8 times and he would respond only 1 time…

Autism is very hard because there are so many normal behaviors also for most kids. But if you see things that could hold him back (not talking, not being social, not eating normally (picky, etc)) its time to get him in to the doc.

there is many signs and the vary with each individual.. i suggest going to the autism speaks website.. very helpful! dont wait to get a diagnosis either.. the sooner you know for sure, the sooner you can start really help that child! DONT WAIT SEE THE NEUROLOGIST ASAP! Good luck!
