Bottons’ (jaguar) death was one of the first recorded cases of canine distemper in big cats. Today, zoos vaccinate their big cats for both canine and feline distemper to avoid this ever happening again.

Liver Inflammation Symptoms

The liver is a very tolerant organ and there is little evidence to suggest that it has an ageing problem such that, without disease, it can function properly into old age. However because most liver disease does not show symptoms and, when it does, the symptoms are often vague, many people with varying degrees of liver damage remain unaware of their liver problems.

If liver disease is not treated in the earlier three stages, cancer may develop. Liver cancer, or hepatocellular carcinoma, affects approximately 4% of patients with cirrhosis. A liver transplant is one of the options for treating liver cancer.

Other most common symptom of liver disease is drop in appetite. This causes sudden weigh loss in the patient and results in anemia with hepatocytes. The patient gets weaker and weaker with continuous vomiting, diarrhea and nausea. If the patient is suffering from gastric ulcer already, they might see blood at times while vomiting.

The effects can be reversed at this stage if further consumption of alcohol is stopped and treatment is taken. The final stage is cirrhosis of the liver, which is irreversible and severely damages the liver. As a result, functions of the liver are affected, and a person’s life span is also reduced.

A person can develop hepatitis if they contract one of the viruses that can cause liver inflammation, or as a result of exposure to substances that can cause hepatitis. there are two ways that can lead to hepatitis: it can either occur as a result of infections or from autoimmune processes.

If the amount of fat exceeds the body’s requirement, large fat accumulations may develop in the liver, which results in an increase in liver enzymes and inflammation. This inflammation can cause scarring and hardening of the liver (cirrhosis) and results in decreased liver function.

Because alcohol consumption can involve many organs in the body, long-term heavy drinking puts a person at risk for developing serious health conditions and illnesses. While each of the health conditions listed below can exist for reasons unrelated to alcoholism disease, certain conditions and alcoholism physical symptoms may be indications that alcohol abuse exists and is affecting the health of the person.
