For the past week or so my throat has been bothering me. it started off as just being scratchy in the mornings, but now it is painful to swallow.

*HOWEVER*

I don't have any other symptoms that may suggest I have a cold. No runny nose, aches or anything. And I've have this sore throat for quite some time now and other symptoms haven't developed.

Any idea as to what this sore throat thing is?

It could be allergy's. it could also be strep throat? Rinse and gargle with Tom's (of Maine) mouthwash. also try drinking hot water with lemon juice or fresh squeezed, and honey. it could be because of the dry season of winter coming. At least that's for me because of the seasons changing in my state. Keep your mouth moisturized and try the peppermint mints too. Hope this helps

My family has had a possible stomach virus since Tuesday, the symptoms start to wane and then fire right back
up. Any possible suggestions that we are dealing with something other than the everyday virus?

all the normal things of hand washing, washing everything in hot water and plenty of antibacterial products have been done

I had the same thing 2 weeks ago. You were right about trying all those things but try something else. if they have a high fever sit in hot bath water.

For the stomach virus my mom just locked me in my room, i got over it in like 7 days.
