Preventing asthma symptoms altogether is the key to a healthy, asthma-free life. In order to prevent the symptoms, you would have to take one or more asthma treatments. there are many asthma treatments available and the correct one for you depends on your symptoms and severity. Each treatment targets a different area and stops different symptoms, so you will need to decide which one you will benefit from.

Inhaled corticosteroids are the most common form of asthma treatment. you will take the prescribed dosage on a daily basis. The medicine may take a few days or weeks for the corticosteroids to prevent the asthma symptoms, but this asthma treatment will eventually keep all symptoms from happening. Leukotriene modifiers are oral medications that help prevent the symptoms from within. they stop the airway inflammation and prevent the onset of asthma attacks. The long-acting beta agonists are like the short-term ones, however they are not to be used with sudden attacks. This type of asthma treatment is taken daily and releases a powder into the airway. The powder helps open the airways and reduce inflammation. however, some doctors won’t prescribe this treatment because they have been known to cause asthma attacks instead of prevent them.

There are many different asthma treatments and there is no way to know which treatment is the right one for you. you will need to speak with your doctor and explain what symptoms you experience and how frequently. your doctor will help determine which asthma treatment you will benefit from.
