Does anyone out there with chronic prostatitis ever experience a discomfort or prickly feeling inside the penis? I will occasionally experience a "prickly" feeling inside the penis, closer to the tip than the base, There's no additional discomfort during urination, but it's mild to fairly uncomfortable at different times. The tip of the penis is also sometimes very sensitive, but I gather this is more common. these symptoms seem to go away when I'm taking antibiotics (doxycycline, cipro, or zithromax), but they usually come back after a while. I know it's not STD related or anything, but it's an unusual phenomenon. Maybe a urinary tract problem related to the prostatitis, or maybe something like a small kidney stone?? Anybody?

If you have a sex partner, have your Doc medicate both of you. Some infections will go to your wife and then back to you. Its not V.D.

Kidney stonesare very common and are one of most painful disorders occurring in the body of a person. Numbers of people suffering from kidney stones is continuously increasing. About 6-7% of U.S population is suffering from kidney stones.

Kidney stone has been described as a hard mass that develops from the crystals separated from urine in the urinary tract. If size of stone is very small or small, it is passed out of the body and a person is not able to notice the same. However, if the size of stone is considerable, a person may suffer from pain and calls for treatment.

Kidney stones contain many types of chemicals in varied combination. most common combination is of calcium and phosphate or oxalate. There are many causes given for the formation of kidney stones. for example, stone can be formed due to intake of certain food substances that contain large quantities of calcium and other minerals. If a person has family history of stone formation, there are chances that he can suffer from kidney stones. Stone formation can also take place due to infection in the urinary tract. Similarly, kidney disorders or diseases can also result in stone formation in the body. Certain types of metabolic disorders also result in stone formation. for example, hyperparathyroidism is one such disorder.

There is also a rare hereditary disease called as renal tubular acidosis which leads to stone formation. Some disorders like hyperoxaluria, in which excess production of oxalate occurs in the body and cystinuria, in which excess quantities of cystine are released in body, also causes stone formation. these two disorders are generally inherited. Uric acid disorder like hyperuricosuria also causes kidney stones.

People who undergo intestinal bypass operations or who suffer from chronic bower inflammation are likely to develop kidney stones. If a person consumes high oxalate foods like beets, spinach, wheat germ, peanuts, chocolates, sweet potatoes etc, he may suffer from kidney stones.

First and foremost symptom of kidney stone is extreme pain, which occurs due to movement of stone in urinary tract. It is felt in side and back areas of kidney in lower abdominal region. in some cases, pain is accompanied by vomiting, nausea etc. If size of stone is very large, pain may continue and blood may appear in urine. sometimes, burning sensation is also felt during urination. these symptoms may be noticed along with fever or chills.

A kidney stone is a hard mass developed from crystals that separate from the urine within the urinary tract. Normally, urine contains chemicals that prevent or inhibit the crystals from forming. these inhibitors do not seem to work for everyone, however, so some people form stones. If the crystals remain tiny enough, they will travel through the urinary tract and pass out of the body in the urine without being noticed.

Kidney stones may contain various combinations of chemicals. The most common type of stone contains calcium in combination with either oxalate or phosphate. these chemicals are part of a person’s normal diet and make up important parts of the body, such as bones and muscles.

A less common type of stone is caused by infection in the urinary tract. this type of stone is called a struvite or infection stone. Another type of stone, uric acid stones, are a bit less common, and cystine stones are rare.

Kidney stones often do not cause any symptoms. usually, the first symptom of a kidney stone is extreme pain, which begins suddenly when a stone moves in the urinary tract and blocks the flow of urine. Typically, a person feels a sharp, cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney or in the lower abdomen. Sometimes nausea and vomiting occur. later, pain may spread to the groin.

If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain continues as the muscles in the wall of the narrow ureter try to squeeze the stone into the bladder. As the stone moves and the body tries to push it out, blood may appear in the urine, making the urine pink. As the stone moves down the ureter, closer to the bladder, a person may feel the need to urinate more often or feel a burning sensation during urination.

If fever and chills accompany any of these symptoms, an infection may be present. in this case, a person should contact a doctor immediately.

Pain IS one symptom of a stone, but it could also be other things.

See your doctor to be safe.
