Its red and irritated and itches,and the last guy she had sex with,supposably had something so she wants to get checked but dosnt know how to ask her mom.are any of these symptoms of an STD? Or could it be something else??

This could be an STD or something as simple as a yeast infection. she can go to her own doctor without her mother's permission for getting this checked and treated. she does not need to tell her mother although one would hope that there is enough open communication between the two that she would tell her mother she is ill. she could also go to Planned Parenthood and get tested and treated but would need to be prepared to pay a fee for this exam and treatment. And, she needs to use protection in the future to prevent this from happening again once she gets treated.

i would have to say yes for sure go and get tested! anything that is not normal down there, there is something wrong! how old is your friend? you need to be straight with your mom and tell her whats going on! and tell her you would like to go to dr and get a ob yearly woman's check up! if anything find a friend to take you to get tested, a girl that is sexual active should be checked and have regular check ups all the time! hope this is of any help.. sounds like to me tho somethings not right.
