On March 28, I got vaccinated for Hepatitis a and B. Today I was feeling very itchy. this is one of the symptoms for Hepatitis. I took the vaccination because I was living with an infected person. I did tests to check whether I am infected (before having vaccinated) and the results came out negative for B and C. the doctor suggested that I should not check for a.
The infeccted person I was living with is infected with a. However, I am sure that I did not get anything from him because I did not touch anything in common between us for two weeks (the time needed for the vaccination to actually take affect).

From my reading however, I am aware that infected people usually experience symptoms after one month. do you think being vaccinated I got the disease? is this right?

the itchiness and vaccinations are completely unrelated. "itchy" is NOT a symptoms of Hepatitis. "itchy" is most likely related to an allergen -it is spring and pollination time for most plants. try Benedryl (more than one dose). if that doesn't work, call your doctor for a prescription antihistamine.

Um…if you wanted to be tested for a, the doctor HAD to do it, especially since you have just cause for the testing… this is a major mistake on his part.

That said, I doubt you have hepatitis. Vaccines often create symptoms of the disease as your body learns to fight it off, and having it take up to a month is not uncommon. that does not mean you GOT it. also, you might just be having an allergic reaction to something that you touched.
