What are at least 5-10 different options for treatments that will help with depression and depression symptoms?

Attitude adjustment goes a long way.
Recognizing that your symptoms ARE symptoms mitigates your symptoms.

As far as I know, there are two forms of general treatment for depression: Medication and Counseling/therapy.

I'd suggest you google some types of medication for depression (the most common being prozac or fluoxitine) and write about the pro's and cons of each.

In regards to therapies etc. look up people such as Carl Rogers and Frued. Rogers has a good Person Centred Counseling thing going on.

Now do your homework.

Losing lots of hair daily.
Sleep early and always tired, light headed, eyesight can't see far, gets blurry then lightheaded. get tired and weak very easily.

Diabetes…. Kidney trouble… taking any Blood pressure meds??? Thyroid problems. you need to see a Dr.. get some tests done, now.

The symptoms that you describe apply to many diseases and conditions. Some agents that may cause some or all of these symptoms are – Diazepam, Prozac, Depakote (Valproic acid, Divalproex) used to treat significant hepatic disease, Combigan (is an eye drop that is used to control glaucoma), Some drugs used for heart problems. Anti malarial drugs. There are also some diseases that produce some or all of the symptoms that you describe, – Lyme disease, to mention just one. There are many more drugs and diseases and conditions with some or all of the symptoms that to make a list here would be useless. Medications affect people differently. The side affects or the effectiveness of a medication may not be experienced by another person. so just because someone had a good or bad experience with a medication doesn't mean that another person would also.
You would be advised to seek a consultation with a doctor for a diagnosis and treatment which could be ascertained by various tests.

I have been taking Effexor XR for several months and just recently I've started feeling depressed. I take Effexor for anxiety. I think I remember in my psych class talking about how when anxiety patients take antidepressants they typically deal with depression as a side effect, and visa versa for depression patients. I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way, and if so, do you take a different medication for the depression?

I started taking Effexor last month it seems to help with my anxiety. I think prozac worked better for depression. I was on prozac for over 20 years and it worked great for depression.

You're supposed to contact your doctor if you have feelings of depression so that they can change the dosage or something.

I was on Remeron for the depressive states of bipolar disorder, and I couldn't stand the lethargy side effects… I switched to Celexa, which shot me straight into a pretty intense hypomania after my moods lifted from the initial severe depression. After dropping the Celexa (as well as Lamictal in short order), the depression returned full-force and ingnited an emotional roller coaster of moods in a short period of time. I got back on my lithium and I am doing fairly well, although I don't feel as stabilized as before.

Celexa was a good curb for the depression, when I was taking it.

Try MDMA instead.

I've been on Prozac for 3 weeks and I'm noticing a relaxed feeling along with normal feelings returning, but the feelings of depression, how long does that take to go away?

Its good that you are feeling results from the Prozac. 4-6 weeks is considered the period when the results are to be expected. Depression is something you have to work on though. Try to do things that make you happy. Working out at a gym or any other exercise program also helps. Avoid things like alcohol which are depressants and add to feelings of depression.

Im glad you are getting your old self back.

6-8 weeks. That's why patients gets discouraged and think meds dont work.
