I know someone who has been on Suboxone since April for a pain killer addiction and this person now wants to stop the suboxone. I was reading a sub forum where some people said smoking weed can help with the withdrawal symptoms, is this true?

I have heard that you can use weed to get off of a pain killer, but you shouldn't just advise someone to do this without knowing a great deal about the drug in question. if I were you, I'd have the person consult with his or her doctor about getting off of the drug, just to be on the safe side.

I do know that Wellbutrin is sometimes given for speed addictions to taper off the effects (I once had a diet pill addiction & was prescribed it for that). I'm not sure if it would work for pain killer addictions though.

(How long does it take?) I ask it because I found a cat who had a throaty voice and a floppy tongue and he drooled a little bit but he had a good appetite and he was very kind and there was no other problem with him during 5-6 days, but 2 days ago he disappeared.
Could he have rabies or must he show with rabies other symtomps in these 5-6 days?

omg what ever you do don't touch it cause if he scratches you then you will need to catch it take it to the hospital to be tested for rabies cause if he does and you catch rabies they give you all those shots in your tummy ouch ( if you don't catch it after getting bit or scratch you will have to get the shots in tummy any ways just to be on the safe side that's what they do.

Wow, this would scare me. Cats die within 10 days of being able to pass the virus in their saliva to humans. so, your cat could be potentially dangerous. the safest thing to do is to go to the dr. and get post exposure prophylactic treatment. in the history of time 2 people survived rabies, TWO. one was >100 years ago, so they probably never really had rabies, they had a wrong diagnosis. the other person survived after MONTHS in a medically induced coma, Months. go to the doctor. if you find the dead cat, you will need to submit it to the health department ASAP. Don't mess around with this.

You NEED to call the Health Department. He could give the rabbies to another cat or to a human. are you sure he's not dehydrated? sometimes that's why cats stick out their tongues. I gave my cats a flea treatment one time that made them foam at the mouth because they licked themselves. If he did not bite you or drool on you or your other animals then you should be fine, however if there is ANY question about exposure you should contact your doctor immediately for preventative shots. Rabies in humans cannot be successfully treated–99.9 percent die and the remainder are severely brain damaged. Rabies comes in two forms: a rapidly progressing form that would have showed other symptoms in the 5-6 days and a "dumb" form that can take 6 months or more to develop symptoms. It is unlikely that the symptoms you describe were from rabies. first thoughts would be a broken jaw. Cats with rabies die within 3-4 days of showing symptoms.

I think 10 days. When I worked for a vet and someone brought in a dog for biting someone, they had to be quarentined for 10 days, then we would know they were okay.

Ok i'm 15 and i keep hearing this buzz about pancreatic cancer and it gets me worried that in some time of my life that i will get the cancer. what are the symptoms and ways to prevent from getting pancreatic cancer. what age should i get x-rays for it. You can’t prevent it. getting x-rays for it does no good, as there is no screening exam for it and by the time you have symptoms it is too late.

My little dog chased a big Lab today and they didnt get into a fight or anything, but i was just wondering how long it takes for rabies symptoms to appear in dogs.

It can take up to a year if I remember correctly, but the only way your dog would get it from the lab is if the lab was positive for it, and they got into an actual fight where blood was drawn, etc… To my knowledge, a dog can't get rabies from another dog just by being around a rabies positive dog. has your dog been vaccinated for rabies? If not, he should be just to be on the safe side. He should also be fully vaccinated altogether to prevent him picking anything else up from another dog.
