Program on osteoporosis

The Women’s Center at CoxHealth will hold a program today on osteoporosis which includes exercise with physical therapist Robyn Holland and a cheese buffet.

Studies estimate more than 52 million Americans 50 or older suffer from osteoporosis and low bone mass. This free program will be 7-9 p.m. at Cox South, 3801 S. National Ave. Registration is required. call 269-LADY.

Girls Night In set for Tuesday

Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar will host five Things every Woman should Know about her Body — a Girls Night In event 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. in the CMH Community Rooms at 1500 N. Oakland Ave.

Dr. D. Shelly Meents from Bolivar OB/GYN will speak. Cost is $7 per person, and reservations are requested. Girls Night In is an annual CMH event.

Walk-in clinics to test for STDs

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is offering testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

The laboratory inside the health department has recently implemented an express urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. This option is available for clients who do not have symptoms of an STD.

Testing for sexually transmitted diseases is available at the health department at no cost. Walk-in clinics are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.; registration begins at 8 a.m.

Alzheimer’s focus of event

The nonprofit National Private Duty Association will host a family caregiver education web conference titled “Caring for Someone with Alzheimer’s at Home,” at 7 p.m. Nov. 16. Pre-registration for the event is required. Sign up at private dutyhomecare.org.
