I have been sneezing, I did have a runny nose, now it is just kind of stuffy, my throat feels kind of itchy, and that is resulting in coughing. when I cough, I cough in spurts, and it is difficult to breathe in when I try to inhale between coughs. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the common cold. Or it could be allergies. if you have a low-grade fever, you can just ride it out. if you have a high fever (above 101) seek medical attention. if you are phlegmy, avoid dairy and orange juice. get plenty of water and rest.

It sounds like hay fever or allergies. try avoiding dairy products, especially heavy ones like cheese. This should help with all of the mucus you are producing. and, drink sips of hot water and dandelion leaf tea throughout the day.
