Me and my girlfriend have been having sex for a couple of weeks now without a condom, we are completely faithful but for some reason we are concerned now (I know we should of thought about it earlier) about std's. Is there any danger now of us catching an std's from unprotected sex or would the damage already be done. Does it mean we are clean or just carriers? should we get tested? Is there any difference if I didn't finish inside her?

Yes there could still be a cause for concern. most common STIs are asymptomatic (have no symptoms) and they don't transmit 100% of the time. Meaning either of you could still have an STI and not have passed it to the other yet. And again, MOST STIs have NO SYMPTOMS so you can NEVER rely on the absence of symptoms as a diagnostic tool.

You both still need to be tested!

Some STIs can be spread with simple (genital) skin to skin contact/rubbing and ejaculation or sperm/vaginal fluids are not required for transmission to occur.

Make a date with your girlfriend and go together to be tested for STIs (and be sure and have a throat swab done if you engage in oral sex and a rectal swab if you engage in anal sex). And I would think about using condoms at least until you get the results.

Most STD's have no symptoms for weeks, months, or even years. just because you have no symptoms doesn't mean you don't have an STD.

Get tested. Having sex without a condom when you have no idea if you're infected is stupid.

No, it makes no difference if you don't ejaculate inside her. some STD's transmit through skin contact alone, and her vaginal fluids, or your pre-ejaculate can still carry an STD.

I really hope she's on the pill and you're not just relying on the pull-out method. Unless you want to be a daddy in the near future.

You can have sex with someone and be exposed to an STD and still not catch it. for example, some people have intercourse multiple times with a person with HIV and don't end up contracting the virus. On the other hand, some people have intercourse with a person with HIV just once and they contract it. Sex is risky business. my suggestion: get tested, it couldn't hurt.

it easy to get carried away with yourself on the first time you have intercourse with your new partner,. eveyone probably has at some point i know i have. (but single now so not really apply to me).
if you are concerned though i would go and get you and your patner tested just for peace of mind

A lot of STDs have no symptoms for the first few months, or even years. there are a few that affect only women, but men can be carriers (example: the form of herpes that causes cervical cancer–it has no symptoms for either sex but only women can get cancer from it). If either of you had sex with someone else before you started dating, and did not get tested afterwards, you both should do so now. It's cheap (and sometimes free) if you go to the health department. call and ask about it. you can make an appointment over the phone, and when you go, no one will be the wiser as to why you're there, except the nurse.

As to whether or not the damage is already done–it depends on a lot of things. best thing for you both to do would be to get tested, just to make sure. That way, if one of you has something that the other hasn't contracted yet, you can take preventative measures to ensure that the other one doesn't catch it.

It doesn't make a difference whether or not you finished inside her. some STDs are passed through skin-to-skin contact, and some through contact with bodily secretions–both of which the two of you have experienced whether you finished inside her or not.

There are several std's out there, several of them are… clahmidia(not sure of the spelling), syphlis,gonorrhea and then there is also AIDS, not sure what any of the symptoms are as i've never had an std, contact your doctor or health department for testing for stds

Sometimes referred to as STI now, which stands for sexually transmissible infection. disease is the result of it kinda getting out of control i guess. there are many signs and symptoms, but some common ones are a rash around the genitals or mouth, perhaps lethargy.. may progress into more severe symptoms. Depends which STI you have.

std are diseases in which you carry and contract to each other by sexual intercourse there are alot of them if you think you have one then you should consult your doctor quickly!!! many people are un aware that they have them but as soon as they have sex with someone they give it to them and it causes misery and alot of embarassment for either person….. look it up on google and just type in the full std it should tell you more there..

in short, they are diseases that are transmitted only by having sex(intercourse, oral, etc.). Symptoms may not show up from 1 to 10 years later. symptoms differentiate for each STD you acquire
