its only been about a week and a half and my throat feels really sore. could it be strep or something a little more serious?

NO an std on the mouth or genitals can take a while to show symptoms, one doesn't always appear before the other. If you have given oral sex to some one recently then an std could appear in your throat. This could possibly be an std or just a sore throat.
Try treating your throat with some over the counter lozenges. If it doesn't get better with in another week then you should see a doctor. it could be a bacterial infection or just a virus that's going around. But you won't know for sure until you can get it checked out.

Hasn't anyone ever heard of Gonoreah of the throat? Sounds like a swollen gland, better get it checked out.
