It’s not just “bad” food that causes problems with digestion and absorption. Any food, including “good” foods have the potential to be an allergen in the body. Food allergies are very common and very often overlooked. in fact, many medical professionals don’t look for food allergies because they fundamentally don’t believe in them. However, the evidence for food allergies is overwhelming and most private labs offer food allergy testing.

there are 4 main categories of food allergies to become aware of so you can identify them. when most people, including many medical professionals hear the word “allergy” they think of the typical symptoms like skin rash, hives, swollen throat, itchy watery eyes, and nasal discharge. However, this really only reflects one type of allergy, the IgE-mediated Immediate Sensitivity reaction. The chart below describes the differences between the 4 categories of food allergies you should distinguish between.

IgE-Mediated Immediate Sensitivity

IgG-Mediated Delayed Sensitivity

Within minutes after exposure

2-48 hours after exposure

Most likely 30min to 2 hours after exposure

Most likely within minutes after exposure

Blood draw for IgG levels

Electrodermal testing

IgE and histamine release from mast cells

IgG released from white blood cells

Deficiency of an enzyme to break down the food

IgE-mediated immediate sensitivity allergies occur when a protein triggers the release of histamine from de-granulated mast cells. The symptoms usually occur within minutes and are usually relatively severe and sometimes cause anaphylaxis. this type of allergy is most commonly induced by nuts, peanuts, shellfish, citrus, and environmental allergens like pollen, dander, and mold. IgE-mediated allergies are relatively uncommon for most other foods. The best way to test for IgE-mediated allergies is through skin prick testing. Anti-histamines provide relief for this type of allergy.

IgG-mediated delayed sensitivity allergies occur when a protein triggers the release of immunoglobulin G (IgG), an inflammatory product from white blood cells in the digestive tract. The symptoms usually occur anywhere from 2 to 48 hours after exposure and are of a more chronic and inflammatory nature. Common signs and symptoms include indigestion, gas, bloating, cramping, eczema, psoriasis, headaches, physical fatigue, mental fatigue, and edema. Anti-histamines do not improve these symptoms because histamine production is not involved. The best way to test for IgG-mediated allergies is to examine a blood sample for immunoglobulin G production from the white blood cell population.

Food intolerances are not a true allergy because they do not involve an immune-mediated response. Food intolerances occur when the body lacks an enzyme to break down certain food molecules. The most well known example is lactose intolerance where the body is deficient the enzyme lactose. therefore, whenever dairy products are consumed lactose is not broken down and causes digestive upset. Enzyme deficiencies can occur for almost any food and are not actually a true allergy but nonetheless cause digestive symptoms.

like food intolerances, food sensitivities are technically not a true allergy because there is no known measurable immune system response. in fact, we understand very little about the causes and mechanisms of food sensitivities. The best way to test for food sensitivity is through an elimination diet and ruling out IgE allergy, IgG allergy, and food intolerance. The treatment for food sensitivity is elimination or rotation diet.

The symptoms of ovarian cysts belong to the field of gynecology. An ovarian cyst is an abnormal structure in the ovaries, with the appearance of a bubble-like extension that is filled with watery or thick discharge. The classification of cyst types is characterized in functional cysts and their sub-species, the so-called retention cysts, which may be innate.

For women who suffer from ovarian cyst symptoms it is extremely essential to know further details about the disease. Sometimes it can be hard to determine the presence of ovarian cysts, as well as the changes that indicate the existence of small myomas.

Generally, the main symptoms of ovarian cysts can only be felt once the growth reached a certain size. The cysts are usually so small that women do not notice them and remain free of symptoms. Whenever ovarian cysts attain a specific volume they start pressing against adjacent organs; thus cause painful sensations. this discomfort is often described as a dull and dragging feeling in the lower abdomen.

Frequent urination, distress with defecation, pain during sexual intercourse and back pain are typical symptoms. In that case, a clarification by a doctor must be made as soon as possible, as acute and colicky pain may be indicative of complications.

Nonspecific symptoms are constipation, difficulty in urination, urinary retention in the kidneys or a water accumulation in the abdominal cavity. If the myomas produce neoplasm hormones, the patient may experience irregular menstrual cycles, as well as the absence of bleeding or continuous bleeding. Also, drawing pains in the right or left lower abdomen are sometimes a sign of ovarian cysts.

In extreme cases, cysts may rupture or tear. Small herniated ovarian cysts often cause no pain, whereas large bursting cysts can result in sever agony in the lower abdomen. If blood vessels get injured, then it can come to strong bleeding in the abdominal cavity, requiring rapid treatment.

The so-called stem rotation of an ovary must be attended immediately, as the twisted ovary prevents blood from flowing and later on is causing a hemorrhage. this always leads to sever pain, nausea and vomiting. The shaft rotation symptom is more common in medium-sized cysts, and if it is not treated instantly the ovary dies. Overall, these complications are extremely rare; however, they require immediate surgery.

After a medical interview about current ovarian cyst symptoms and associated problems, the doctor performs a physical examination. through a pelvic exam, he can feel large cysts and tumors effortless.

It is vital that the patient provides the physician with detailed information about possible irregularities in menstruation, existing conditions, pregnancy and previous diseases. a clear insight into the individual’s overall health and lifestyle enables the doctor to make a quick diagnosis, as well as to find the ideal treatment option.

This may result in becoming capable to avoid making the situation worse through the things you do. Let’s go into the symptoms of morning sickness so you are able to understand this much better.

The most typical symptoms of morning sickness would include nausea and vomiting. You will find reasons why women encounter varying degrees of this. One theory is that the entire body is trying to rid itself of toxins and harmful elements that may be dangerous towards the developing fetus. A woman’s body can handle numerous various elements that a fetus cannot, so symptoms of morning sickness are a good thing in this case. This only means that the entire body is responding normally to the pregnancy.

Nevertheless these common signs and symptoms of morning sickness might also be the result of a woman’s surroundings or habits. For instance, if she eats too much of the food she craves for then her entire body might have trouble digesting it, she may experience morning sickness because of indigestion.

A woman typically also has a heightened sense of smell during pregnancy due to the estrogen in her system. This might mean that typical smells may be causing symptoms of morning sickness simply because unpleasant odors might make a pregnant woman’s stomach upset.

Morning sickness symptoms don’t make everyday any simpler, you can treat these signs and symptoms and lessen discomfort should you just know what to do. Distance yourself from unpleasant smells, and step outside to get fresh air. Should you should give into cravings, remember to moderate what and how a lot you eat and watch the combination of food that you put into your mouth.

It’s also great to be mindful of your health overall, particularly when experiencing the symptoms of morning sickness. get lots of liquid and fluids as vomiting can cause dehydration. be sure to eat regularly so that your stomach isn’t empty and you’re not malnourished. if you’re mindful of these points then you may see that the signs and symptoms of morning sickness are a lot simpler to handle than you may have imagined, and your pregnancy will be as healthy as possible.

I've been a Type 1 diabetic for almost 20 years. lately when I go low, 60 and lower i have a few different symptoms which are not the typical symptoms for LBS, and no other typical symptoms are involved when this happens.

1) my entire mouth goes completely numb.

2) my eyes start twitching and my mouth starts twitching uncontrollably.

I've asked my doctor about this and he says not to worry, but, why after so long are my symptoms changing completely? has anyone else had these weird symptoms?

I am a T2, and the first sign I have when I go low is my mouth feels cold and numb. I don't know about the twitching.

No, and I have had lots of LBS with my disease in earlier years. I have not heard of that. even now, if I get a low, my symptoms are just the usual ones. I think I would check with a neurologist, it sounds like a neurological problem. I never liked it when a doctor says not to worry, but gives no explanation. I always had to find one from someone that was qualified.
