Colon cancer is one of the preventable cancers and its symptoms are not easily identifiable. the colon cancer, when diagnosed, is usually at the advanced stage. It is also necessary to be informed about the symptoms of colon cancer as it would help you to take care of your health.

There are many symptoms and these symptoms cannot be identified in the early stages of cancer. hence, it is highly recommended to opt for regular health checkups once an individual attains the age of fifty.

The symptoms are classified into two types. they are Local and Systemic symptoms.

The local colon cancer symptoms are diarrhea, constipation, changes in bowel movement and frequent gas pains or cramps. the systemic colon cancer symptoms are jaundice, anemia, unexplained fatigue, loss of appetite nausea, vomiting and jaundice.

It is necessary to consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms mentioned above. this will help you to do the necessary tests and also prepare yourself before doing these tests.

The different stages of colon cancer are described here:

* the first stage is the stage 0 i.e. is the earliest stage. this stage can be described as the findings of a group of abnormal cells in an individual’s colon. this stage is just the beginning of cancer and is not dangerous to the individual’s life. * the next stage is the stage I when the cancer has spread outwards beyond the inner tissue layer that exists on the wall of the individual’s colon. * the stage II is divided into Stage IIA and Stage IIB. in stage II a, is the cancer spreads to the middle layers of the tissue in the walls of the colon and the surrounding tissues. Stage IIB occurs when the cancer has spread into the organs in the region or into the abdominal wall. * in stage III, the cancer spreads to the other organs of the body and requires aggressive treatment such as chemotherapy, surgical resection and other medical therapies. * in the stage IV, this cancer spreads to other organs such as liver or lungs.

Chemotherapy is recommended for treating the stage III and stage IV along with the biologic therapies. It is sometimes also recommended for the stage II.

I was wanting to know the symptoms of each stage of colon cancer from people that has experienced it. I am young, although the symptoms should be the same. I just need to know your knowledge for my well being. Please answer truthfully for me.

In its early stage, colorectal cancer usually produces no symptoms. The most likely warning signs include:

* Changes in bowel movements, including persistent constipation or diarrhea, a feeling of not being able to empty the bowel completely, an urgency to move the bowels, rectal cramping, or rectal bleeding
* dark patches of blood in or on stool; or long, thin, "pencil stools"
* Abdominal discomfort or bloating
* Unexplained fatigue, loss of appetite and/or weight loss
* Pelvic pain, which occurs at later stages of the disease
Stage 0 cancer of the colon is very early cancer. The cancer is found only in the innermost lining of the colon. Stage I
Also called Dukes a colon cancer, the cancer has spread beyond the innermost lining of the colon to the second and third layers and involves the inside wall of the colon. The cancer has not spread to the outer wall of the colon or outside the colon.Stage II
Also called Dukes B colon cancer, the tumor extends through the muscular wall of the colon, but there is no cancer in the lymph nodes (small structures that are found throughout the body that produce and store cells that fight infection).Stage III
Also called Dukes C colon cancer, the cancer has spread outside the colon to one or more lymph nodes (small structures that are found throughout the body that produce and store cells that fight infection).Stage IV
Also called Dukes D colon cancer, the cancer has spread outside the colon to other parts of the body, such as the liver or the lungs. The tumor can be any size and may or may not include affected lymph nodes (small structures that are found throughout the body that produce and store cells that fight infection).

I have stage 3, and I was having problems at first that I didn't associate with anything serious. I kept having alternating diarrhea and constipation, and every now and then I'd get these "ribbon-like" stools. when I got worried was when I suddenly started getting severe pain, like the worst gas you can imagine, and every 15 minutes or so I'd also get mind-blowing pain. My husband took me to the emergency room, and after a barium swallow, they told me it was just gas, and to see my doctor if a laxative didn't work. a month later, it happened again. This time I went to a gastrointerologist, who did a colonoscopy. it turns out I had a tumor so big it was blocking off my colon, and the pain was because everything was backing up behind it and couldn't get through!

Cancer Symptoms – An Ovarian Cancer Symptom Is Not An Ovarian Cancer Prognosis ? Yet

If you ultimately do decide to go the conventional route to treat your cancer, alternative methods can be incorporated in conjunction with surgery and chemo. Suppose your having just one ovarian cancer symptom seriously enough that you feel it warrants being checked out by a physician, and it turns out you aren’t diagnosed with ovarian cancer. it doesn’t mean you won’t be, a little further down the road.

Instead of hoping there’s some magic a doctor might be able to perform or prescribe to make everything better, why don’t you do it? Whether you’ve been diagnosed or not, listen closely to what your body’s trying to tell you, research the appropriate natural remedies that address the symptoms, and incorporate as many of them as possible into a daily regimen. Then follow it. You’ll know if they’re working inside of a few days if not immediately. Natural remedies are that potent, and they address the actual problem as opposed to just the symptoms. if your having any of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, it’s a sign your not healthy.

Sure a significant part of alternative medicine does revolve around diet, but why shouldn’t it? most health problems are caused by poor dietary choices and/or lifestyle preferences, and they can be corrected by the same. still, there are many magic potions for every disease in the realm of alternative medicine, especially cancer.

Conventional medicine doesn’t pay any attention to them because they’re all natural and un-patentable by the pharmaceutical companies, which means they can’t be exploited or monopolized. The body is natural, so it only makes sense the cure for a disease would be too. In fact the majority of diseases are caused by either repeated exposure to un-natural substances, or due to a diet comprised of food that has been denatured. usually both.

So take it as a wake up call. if you have ovarian cancer symptoms and especially if you’ve already received an ovarian cancer prognosis, which are never good. It’s time to take responsibility for your own health, and you should be very wary of anything a conventional M.D. says. Blind faith is definitely not recommended when dealing with the modern medical version of cancer cures. let us not forget, cancer is more or less a man-made or at least a man induced disease to begin with.

After all, the AMA track record for ovarian cancer barely has a 50% survival rate. that doesn’t include those that have an ovarian cancer recurrence, which is all but guaranteed if the original cause of the cancer is not addressed. and that means what? That’s right, holistic health. you just can’t get around it, so why not embrace it?

Either educate yourself about holistic health and follow up on what you’ve learned, or put it in the hands of a qualified naturopathic physician. Ultimately the responsibility will still fall back on you. So do this! do it for yourself and do it for those who care about you. and don’t stop your research.
