I believe I have developed gallstones either during pregnancy or just recently.. I go to the Dr. this week but I was wondering if any other Mom has had problems with these? I just recenty lost all my baby weight in the last 3 months, about 30 lbs… I also have a family history of gallbladder issues in my family, both my mom and gramma had theres out… I have a dull, ache of a pain up under my right rib and in my back. I also get nausea(especially after eating) I have a little shortness of breath as well.. I know all of these are symptoms of gallstones.has anyone had this happen to them or have any advice as far as diet or easing the pain until my Dr. Appt… It;s very uncomfortable but I'm told this is common, has anyone else had these symptoms?
My sister did, as did a good friend of mine. It's not uncommon I understand.
I got them when i was pregnant with my first. 7 weeks after I had her I had surgery. There is not really anything you can do I had to avoid tomato products.
My good friend had this. she had to eat very boring bland food til she got it removed.
I didn't have it happen to me but some friends and my some cousins had this happen. I dunno so much about a diet until you see the doctor though. I would probably take something for the pain though. Some Tylenol or Motrin..you can alternate these 2 every 4hrs.
MY 17 year old Daughter in law did. 28 years ago, I don't know what her symptoms were,
don't eat any greasy foods or intake alot of acid it aggervates the gall bladder
I can't get pregnant, but had a lathroscopic proceedure done to remove my gall bladder about a year ago. It was preceeded by severe pain on the upper right side – above my stomach. It hit me when we were vacationing, I couldn't sleep, couldn't lay down, couldn't stand up… it was simply horrible. Enter – liquid vicodin…ahhh…
Had the gall bladder taken out, haven't looked back…
Yes, I did. I developed the gallstones during my pregnancy but they got bigger after I had the baby. I felt exactly your symptoms until they got worst. then I started throwing up this oil like vomit…almost greasy…and sure enough, I had surgery the next day. I had laproscopic surgery (I'm not sure of the spelling), which they do one small incesion (about an inch) and two little holes (almost as if though they poked two pencils in your stomach). they left very little scars.
My doctor that removed my bladder and my OB told me that is was very common too.
What causes the pain is when you eat and you gall bladder who is full of gallstones then tries to release acid to the food you ate…which it can't because the stones are blocking the exit…so it blows up like a balloon and pushes pressure all around in …especially on your rib and some nerves. when it blows up…it's taking up much more space that it causes you the shortness of breath.
What I did…seriously, I didn't eat for almost two days until my surgery. I couldn't stand the pain. Good luck and if I were you, I would push the doctor to see me faster or go to the hospital to have an immediate removal of your gall bladder. Trust me, it gets worse.
During the last month of pregnancy with my son I developed gallstones. Only, I did not realize it was gallstones. I called my ob thinking it was early labor. As the pain started in the rib cage and radiated to the back and up through the shoulders sometimes it was an unbearable pain, and eating always made it worse. I would suggest you see your doctor as soon as possible. In the meantime, avoid the grease. Don’t eat large or even normal size meals. you are better off to eat very very small portions more frequently. Avoid hard to digest foods. If you can switch to veggie diet until after your appointment you might have less pain. and I would avoid eating close to bedtime.
my niece did, and had to have her gallbladder removed. It's from the weight gain.
after having my 1st child i got gallstones, my pain was worse than giving birth, I found out i have stones in my gallbladder and liver ducts which had to be removed, then I had to have my gallbladder removed. After all of this you should stay away from greasy and spicy foods, also alcohol. because you may still have the pain a while. it sucks and it was scary but eveything works out in the end
