Mosquito bite allergy can be of any kind – from minor reactions to major allergies. The most severe form of a mosquito allergy is the skeeter syndrome – a severe reaction seen to cause red bumps, swelling and itching. and these symptoms cover a comparatively larger area of the mosquito bite. The usual mosquito bite allergy symptoms can appear well within a few minutes from the time of the bite, but in case of skeeter syndrome, the signs appear a few hours or even days later.

Even mosquito bites can show deadly symptoms like anaphylaxis, angioedema and uticaria. these are symptoms accompanied by asthma attacks and other respiratory obstructions.
Mosquito bites can be very annoying. The itching, burning and irritation at the same time can make one mad. but, as soon as you experience one, you can begin to treat it to prevent further complications. Cleanse the bitten area with an antiseptic, soap or a sanitizer may be. Rinse it with warm water and wipe off with clean dry towel. do not give way to even the strongest urge of scratching. Aloe Vera gel is again a cooling and soothing natural remedy for mosquito bites. this can be followed by rubbing ice on the affects skin area. for soft and delicate skin of children, mix baking soda to water in the ratio 2:1 and make a thick paste and apply.
Topical anesthetic lotions and anti- inflammatory ointments can also be used, which may contain calamine or pramoxine. Just 1 % of hydro- cortisone is seen to alleviate signs like itching and burning.
Reactions to mosquito bites are seen to reduce with growing age, due to the increased immunity towards the mosquito saliva. Hence, kids and teenagers are more susceptible to being prey to these mosquito bite allergies as compared to adults and the aged.
