Has anyone tried betablockers for anxiety? does it work or make symptoms worse?

I have anxiety symptoms everyday and especially tension headaches, lightheadness and diziness, would betablockers relieve my symptoms? Since beta blockers aren't FDA approved for treating anxiety, and particularly because they ARE used to treat cardiac arrhythmias, I wouldn't go down that road.
