She has sinus like symptoms and the back of her throat is swollen and shes coughing can someone help?

My 15 year old niece hates doctors so we try and refrain from using them if we don't have to but if i can't figure out whats wrong with her i have to take her…..so i would appreciate it if anyone could help….
