Ulcerative colitis is a disease caused by artifacts of inflammation and sores in the lining of the colon that can cause bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever. Ulcerative colitis symptoms usually start from the sigmoid colon and rectum, and eventually spread to parts or the entire colon.
Ulcerative colitis symptoms may begin at any age, but usually begins between the ages of 15-30 years. the cause of this disease is unknown, but genetics and immune system response that is too active in the gut, allegedly involved in the occurrence of ulcerative colitis.
An attack may be sudden and severe, causing severe diarrhea, high fever, abdominal pain and peritonitis (inflammation of the lining of the stomach). Treatment

Patients should avoid raw fruits and vegetables to reduce physical injury to the lining of the inflamed colon. Milk-free diet may reduce symptoms. the addition of iron can cure anemia caused by loss of blood in the stool.
