Upper Right Quadrant Pain (Under Ribs) Pancreatitis?

by Symptom Advice on November 24, 2010

My husband is having pain in his abdomen right below his ribs, there is actually an area that feels like it protrudes out but only slightly. his pain is radiating to his back. I have tried Pepsid, Pepto, NSAIDS, and even putting muscle rub on the area but nothing seems to be helping him. He is 38 and has a history of umbilical hernias, stress, heart attack (Age 31), (I don't know if that matters). If anyone has any idea what we may be facing please let me know, it has been bothering him for several days and he has to fins comfortable positions to lay in at night. his symptoms are similar to those of someone with Pancreatitis.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. thank you to everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Most likely gall stones pancreatitis pain is usually central

These symptoms are classic for several problems, all within the digestive organs. you shouldn't be doing any type of massage therapy here though. The liver is on top of the pancreas and would be the large organ that is sticking out. I suggest he get to the ER for a diagnosis here. The chances of this being too many problems need things like an ultrasound and MRI. He has already faced allot of health issues at very young ages, so please don't hesitate to drive him their now or call an ambulance to take him. If he still has his appendix this is another problem and needs to be taken out before it burst and any infection goes into th abdominal cavity. this might take his life. there is no more time to wait for answers either. good luck and God Bless
