Normal sugar level after 8 to 10 hours fasting is less than 6.1 mmol/L. A normal sugar level after 2 hours of meal should be lesser than 7.8 mmol/L. the sugar level comes down again after 3 hours of having the meal.

It is good that diabetics should aim for comparatively lesser levels. Fasting glucose level of less than 7 mmol/L is considered to be good levels. the normal sugar levels after 2 hours of eating are still considered good if they are lesser than 10.

The above mentioned values have been based on the normal sugar levels so that a person can stay away from diabetic complications. it is possible that the person should aim for even lesser sugar levels for reducing the risk of heat related complications. Ideally normal sugar level range is less than 6 after the meals and less than 5 before meals.
