I have 2 males and 1 female. I do not know if they are fixed, but one of the males has been trying to get frisky with my female. she has been acting wierd and nipping alot. she is not as friendly and generally keeps to herself. this is not her usual personality. Could she be pregnant? what are the symptoms I should look for?
The tattoo is a good sign that it's been spayed/neutered, but my vet told me years ago, it's not always a guarantee, sometimes one makes it through. However, I doubt 3 would make it through, and you'd buy all 3 of them.
How long have you had her? I have a Ferrets for Dummies book(really good by the way), I don't know where it is off hand, but I recall them saying when they go into heat, it's pretty bad for the females and if they're pretty much not kept pregnant, she can die from blood loss or something or other.
If you've had her awhile, you would've known if she was fixed or not by now. she may just be getting tired of the boys, or maybe she's not feeling well. keep an eye on her, and maybe make an appt. with the vet.
All posters are somewhat or completely correct….this is a classic case of a ferret owner not knowing enough about the pet they own. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH!

I'm not sure about the symptoms, but I do believe you can tell if they are fixed by their ears! There should be a, "tattoo" of 2-3 black dots inside one of their ears. I've heard you cannot buy a ferret that isn't fixed unless you get it from Oregon. Anywhere esle, they must spay and neuter them because of over population and the threat to certain vegetation. Hope I can help!
