What are the symptoms of rabies?

by Symptom Advice on December 20, 2010

I was slightly scratched by a puppy's teeth.
This puppy was a gift to us but it was already 3 months old when it was brought to us yesterday. I was trying to put her on a couch when it suddenly grab my hand with her mouth.
The wound is very very small, much like a mark left by a syringe needle or a mosquito bite.
According to the owner, the puppy has't receive any immunization or anti-rabies vaccine yet.
What must I do?

Rabies is the fear of water. if you start fearing water, you've got rabies.

keep it clean, if you show signs of swelling, headache, fever, red veins, ,these can be major signs of infection, also if any puss appears, or any kind of discoloration (other than minor bruising) pretty much if you feel ill at all i would see a doctor, if it seems to be healing and going away i wouldnt worry about it, but keep it clean, and rinse it with peroxide so you kill all the germs, also make sure you get your doggies vaccinations as soon as possible also as far as rabies go, if your dog isnt showing any signs of being ill (like wobbling or excessively drooling, inactivity, throwing up) i wouldnt worry about rabies, its a pretty fast acting virus and u would know right away if the dog had it, you mostly need to worry about infections from germs just in general, which can easily be prevented like i said above by keeping it clean

If you start foaming at the mouth, go to the doctor.
