A certain number of tender points are required to diagnose fibromyalgia, but I was only sensitive at about half of them. I have most of the other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia, so, if that's not what I have, what is my disease or condition? (Also tested negative for lupus.)
I wouldn't rule out fibromyalgia. They don't know that much about it yet so they call it a "syndrome". you don't have to have all of the tender points "active" at any given time to have FMS. and from conversations I've had with others with FMS, it strikes different people in different ways. Find a good doctor who is willing to listen to you and try treatments to help you feel better.
They also may want to test you for having Rheumatoid Arthritis. Best of Luck!
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, my son and neice has Multiple Sclerosis and my sister has Fibromyalgia. We all have similar symptoms. it is very hard to distinquish without lab testing and xrays. Email me @ ritas1125@yahoo.com and I can tell you what has helped with the symptoms.
