i think my friends daughter has it, please answer
Autism is a massive spectrum, everything in the spectrum is interlinked. Its very hard to determine what strain of the autistic spectrum and indiviual has, but comparatively easy to diagnose an individual with autism.
I would suggest looking for evidence of dyslexia or dyspraxia, or maybe an obsession, a very common obsession for an autistic at around the ages of 4-9 is Thomas the tank engine (weirdly enough). you will also find that many autistics excell at what they enjoy, or excell at particular subjects, without much apparent effort.
psychiatrists spent years arguing the toss over whether i was or wasn't autistic. Eventually, (after much expenditure on the part of my parents), it was decided that i have aspergus syndrome. their decision took slightly over three years to make… your friend should probably be prepared for a wait.
Autism is usually found early in life. your friends daughter if she is autistic should have been diagnosed by now. in any matter though here is a website that will hopefully help you and your friend understand..
