I'm slightly allergic to maple and dog. but my allergy to dust and mites are so severe, that they were unable to be scaled because they were so high. I use an air purifier, enclosed my mattress, I take Calritin D, Zyrtec, vacuum using wearing a mask (we have an HEPA Hoover), and use a neti pot every day to relieve my symptoms, but it's not enough. the symptoms bug me everyday and just get worse by the month. If I replace all my 20+ year old carpeting with hard wood flooring, will this make a drastic improvement in my allergies?
Air Purifiers are great. Oreck's are pricey, but worth it (oreck.com). If you think your's isn't working perfectly check them out. regarding your carpet…YES! definitely…get rid of it. you would be amazed how much gross, nasty stuff is trapped in your carpet…even if you vacuum every single day. it doesn't matter how good your vacuum is. but, you will find that you will have to vacuum your hardwood much more, because the slightest grit will be annoying, but it should really help.
oh my yes it wood! get it, i made a joke! but really it would help. i have server allergies and take more than you. you may want to try pseudoephedrine its a decongestant and the goverment NOW controls it do to it is used to make methamphetamine but you can still buy it and use in limited quanitys, t wooks great with my allergies and it will not make you sleepy.
also try: allegra, with your others, I do this also, switch meds daily as it helps and take more than recommended, because besides a toothache, alllergies are enough to drive a person insane, good luck!
It should help, yes. Hopefully it will help enough so that the money and time you put into taking out your carpets will be worth it. Don't do it yourself, though. I would think even with a mask it would be get into your eyes too much to be considered safe. it seems like a drastic measure. Good luck!
i would think so
