some of the symptoms of Morgellons are vague while others are very apparent. However, since Morgellons disease is still considered a medical mystery there is no agreement on what the symptoms are.

The symptoms reported by people suffering from Morgellons often mimic other diseases.

    for instance, the symptoms of Lyme disease seem to overlap the symptoms of Morgellons resulting in a wrong diagnosis.

    It has been suggested that up to half of those suffering from Morgellons has been disgosed with Lyme disease.

The symptoms may take a long time to develop, They are not always consistent, coming and going for no apparent reason. There is no evidence that Morgellons is a seasonal disorder.

Another common symptom that most suffer is the feeling of bugs crawling under the skin. some Morgellons’ sufferers complain of seeing insects flying in and out of their skin.

according to the CDC:

    “Persons who suffer from this condition report a range of coetaneous symptoms including crawling, biting and stinging sensations; granules, threads or black speck-like materials on or beneath the skin;

    and/or skin lesions (e.g., rashes or sores) and some sufferers also report systemic manifestations such as fatigue, mental confusion, short term memory loss, joint pain, and changes in vision.”

The most obvious symptom is sores that do no heal or are slow to heal. These sores have a thread like filimen protruding from them. Once that filiment is removed the sore begins to heal, aften leaving a scar.

Morgellons Disease Research reports that:

  • these thread-like fibers are often multi-colored…white, blue, black, and red.
  • many of the symptoms are common to all, but no one symptom is common to everyone.
  • many experience painful sensations under the skin accompanyed by the appearance of fibers and granules.

Morgellons disease is not a respecter of any one group of people. Adults and children both can suffer from these Morgellons’ symptoms. sometimes only one member of the family may be afflicted while in some cases all family members are affected or just some of the family. To date, there is no evidence that Morgellons is contagious.

People who report these symptoms appear to be located the geographic areas of Texas, Florida and California as well as 47 other states in the United State. People is Canada, Australia and great Britain have reported sufferring with Morgellons symptoms.

Becuase of the variety and types of symptoms of Morgellons it is not surprising that you or a family member maybe suffering from this skin condition and not know it.
