by Symptom Advice on March 5, 2011

i was told i had gonorrhea i have faithfully been with the same guy for 9 yrs he got tested and they dont think he has it he has no symptoms results not back yet can there be no symptoms and should i get a second oppion

Yes, it's possible that it could be asymptomatic.

I wonder though, how recently did you acquire the gonorrhea? If it is obviously new, then something is not right in your scenario.

brother this disease can only happen to women (females) and the disease happening to men like gonnareha is syphlis

It is possible that you may not notice symptoms. Women are able to see discharge on their underwear and other signs like that, but men usually notice when the gonorrhea has been present for some time and has led to a painful burning while urinating or milky discharge.

I have been in the same situation, in a monogamous relationship with a guy for 4 years and got tested when we both showed symptoms and we both came back positive for gonorrhea. Of coarse the doctors are going to say "Oh, well someone was messing around." And it really makes you feel like sh!t. And it seems like that would be the only answer but I don't know if it's possible to contract it some other way through the transmission of bodily fluids without knowing.

The best thing to do would be to wait until you get the results. At that point you will have all the facts and know exactly what steps to take. the symptoms of gonorrhea can sometimes mirror those of other bacterial or viral infections , so I wouldn't recommend you do anything until you know for sure. But you should definitely let your partner know and use it as an opening to talk about the subject.
