Can you get chronic non-bacterial prostatitis from receiving anal sex?

by Symptom Advice on February 16, 2011

I often get prostatitis symptoms a week after I have received anal sex. I cannot find any information about this on the internet. I have had all the regular checks for bacterial infections and my urologist says that is is non-bacterial. Any advice?

i just googled it, do you cycle a lot? from what i gleaned as non bacterial its lets just say your prostate is aggravated. regular masturbation is reccomended as it will help drain the prostate. if your taking painkillers especially ibufren stop taking them if you have any blood in your ahem *cough* special love fluid.

I have never heard of this type of condition either.

The Prostate gland is very close to the wall of the rectum, anal sexual intercourse would undoubtedly inflame the prostate and cause prostatitis which doesn't need to have a bacterial infection to become inflamed.your prostate may be enlarged more than average and therefore more likely to be affected.
