"Theories about what causes ulcerative colitis abound, but none have been proven. Some believe there is a genetic component. the most popular theory is that the body's immune system reacts to a virus or a bacterium by causing ongoing inflammation in the intestinal wall. People with ulcerative colitis have abnormalities of the immune system, but doctors do not know whether these abnormalities are a cause or a result of the disease. Ulcerative colitis is not caused by emotional distress or sensitivity to certain foods or food products, but these factors may trigger symptoms in some people."

"Treatment for ulcerative colitis varies, but most people are prescribed medications". My friend has Ulcerative Colitis and suffered for years. she went from one drug to another and eventually the doctors wanted to do surgery to remove the diseased part of her colon. she found a natural product, AloeElite and has been on it for years; she is completely symptom free, pain free and diarrhea free. "AloeElite naturally controls inflammation and helps to mend the tissue that has been damaged, healing the ulcerations over time". "Some people whose symptoms are triggered by certain foods are able to control the symptoms by avoiding foods that upset their intestines, like highly seasoned foods, raw fruits and vegetables, or milk sugar". Stress can also aggravate the condition.

For Information on digestive diseases, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitis, the Definition, Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment, and more, go to AloeElite.com for all the information. it is good you have a colonoscopy scheduled, and are going to the doctor, that way you can get a proper diagnosis. I hope this information helps you better understand what may have caused the Ulcerative Colitis and what you can do to stop the pain and diarrhea.
