Could you have schizophrenia symptoms without being schizophrenic?

by Symptom Advice on December 25, 2010

I have been having symptoms similar to Schizophrenia. Alucinations, problems of speech, feeling no emotion. I was wondering if you can have these symptoms for a while for some reason and not develop schizophrenia. (I recently stopped taking a medicine).

well if ur diagnsoed with it ,it wont be gone for a while but it it has just started you should get help fast or it would become worse
just a little advise

by the way im going to become a doctor so u might wannt to keep it in my what im telling you

Well, if you don't actually have Schizophrenia, then you don't have symptoms of it. the symptoms you are experiencing are for something else, if you don't have schizophrenia. you should consult your doctor on how to properly discontinue some medications. that could be your problem.

Schizophrenia is a label given to a condition that a person has when they exhibit certain symptoms.
The symptoms you have may well be Schizophrenia or they may be something else that also has those symptoms.
Get professional advice – and if you have been prescribed medication DON'T stop taking it.

Could be psychotic depression, or if you have any other symptoms, could be something else, or you might have a couple different things. either way, reading up on these things is not going to help you, you may or may not have them, but reading about it now could only make things worse. you need to speak with a doctor who can evaluate and help you instead if you want help with whatever you have.

It's probably just side effects of the medicine you quit. I wish you'd have given the med's name.

Schizophrenia symptoms are very pronounced and interfere with every day functioning and involve psychotic breaks with reality that can end up in violence.

You don't have schizophrenia. the symptoms are so disturbing they cause major problems for you and everyone around you.
