Floating stool, a sign of pancreatic cancer?

by Symptom Advice on February 19, 2011

I normally always check my stools after I'm finished, and I noticed that this one was floating, just barely, but it was floating and it didn't sink like all my stools usually do. Now, I've read up on this cancer and this is one of the many symptoms, but not the only cause of floating feces. I should also tell you I'm 21 years old, I have no diabetes, but I am pretty overweight. I did change my diet a bit as well to a little bit more healthier choices, but the floating stool really scared me. again, I'm too young to get this type of cancer, usually people 60 and up have the risk of getting this. however, my stool wasn't really pale colored either, it was a mix of normal medium brown and light brown. it went down pretty easy with little to no strain. so, what are the other causes of floating stool for my age and could explain how to fix them? I assume I would have to have pancreatic cancer symptoms daily to confirm that diagnoses, no?

check out the poopreport.com for any of your stool questions. if you have them, she has answers for them!! if you are eating more fiber, that could cause your stool to float, actually your stool should float. I would think there as more of a problem if it sank. I wouldn't jump straight to pancreatic cancer yet. Seriously, check out poopreport.com.

No. what you eat will make it float or sink
