I'm having a lot of trouble with gallstones and I'm having the whole organ taken out next month, but meanwhile, is there any food that is better than others to eat when you have gallbladder problems? And what food makes the symptoms worse? Or does food not really make a great impact when it comes to gallstones? I am not in pain by the way, for me the gallstones just cause nausea, but that's bad enough.
Thank you for any advice you may have to offer.
I am 26yrs old, am perfect weight for my height, have a healthy diet and recently had my gall bladder removed. I went through excruciating pain (morphine didn't even take the edge off) and when I had an attack would throw up for hrs. Lost 5kg in 3 wks. Talk to you doc, he may be able to give you some anti-nausea medication, helped me. Good luck with your surgery, it's well worth it.
drs say not to eat anything with seeds, spices, greasy
In other words, a VERY bland diet.
I have had mine removed. Only 2 things ever set mine off–water and hot dogs. Hot dogs make sense, because of what they make them with but the water never did.
Foods can make a very big impact, so you do need to watch what you do eat and drink. if pain starts, either go to er immediately or call your dr. you just may need it out sooner than expected. Good luck.
Had my gallbladder removed years ago. things that really made me sick were Peanut butter, fried foods, anything greasy. Some rich meats (pork especially, I guess cause it's greasy) whipped cream. anything rich. now I can eat anything, even peanut butter and that was the worst.
